Dear Educator: 2015 marks the 88th anniversary of The Buffalo News Spelling Bee. The Bee provides a wonderful challenge for students, and The Buffalo News is pleased to continue to host the Bee as part of its mission to support education and literacy. Last year, our representative did a great job, but we are still on the lookout for a speller who will bring home the trophy. We hope your school will be a part of the excitement this year. The Buffalo News Spelling Bee is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders in all public, private, parochial, charter and home schools in nine counties: Allegany (with the exception of the Alfred-Almond Central School District), Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming. All information for The Buffalo News Spelling Bee can be found at BuffaloNews.com/spellingbee. From the Spelling Bee website you can also click on the National Spelling Bee for information on registering, study resources available and more.
