Hey Girls! It’s time to start thinking about high school soccer this fall! Read this newsletter and mark your calendars for important dates.

Registration All players entering grades 7 through 12 wishing to participate in the Hopkins High School soccer program must register online BEFORE August 13, 2016 in order to attend those fun tryouts that everyone LOVES! The registration is $230 and will open July 1st. Scholarships are also given for free and reduced lunch fees. Register at http://hopkinsactivities.registryinsight.com/. If you do not have access to a computer, or need help with the online registration process, please visit the Activities Office located in the Lindbergh Center. All players need to have a documented complete physical done within the past 3 years as part of the registration process in order to play HHS soccer.

High School Summer Training Program with Varsity Coaches Keith Pavelka and Justin Hegre Grades 7 – 12 9am to 10:30am, Hopkins High School Full Week 1 June 6th -10th Weeks 2 – 5 Monday and Thursday June 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 & 30 and July 11 & 14 Preseason Clinic: July 18-22 >
Captains Practices
Mon - Fri August 1st – 5th and Mon – Fri August 8th – 12th 8:00am to 10:00am These sessions are designed to prepare players for the fitness test they will take during the Try-Out process. Bring your running shoes, soccer gear (cleats, shin guards, ball) and water! Practice rain or shine! Meet at the high school practice turf field.

FUNdraisers!!! We will be having a Car Wash in the MGM parking lot at the corner of Hopkins Crossroads and Hwy 7. This is one of our most important ways of raising money for our teams, and we need all Silver, Blue, JV and Varsity players to work at least one of the shifts. Parents--you’re invited too! Please email Sarah Frank, one of the captain’s parents, to sign up for a shift. Date/Shifts: Sunday August 7th, 2016 10 am – 12pm & 12 pm – 2pm
Chemical Awareness and Team Informational Meeting in August Date To Be Announced
Other FUNdraisers will be posted on our team website!
Attendance is mandatory at this meeting for all HHS athletes and their parents. There will be a presentation on the Hopkins High School chemical policies by Athletic Director, Dan Johnson. Players and one parent must sign a form stating they understand the policies outlined at the meeting. Afterward there will be a separate meeting for girls’ soccer players and their parents. The meeting will include introduction of coaches and captains, distribution of rosters and schedules, ordering apparel, fundraising efforts, (including Soccer Booster Club fees), and the opportunity to sign up for volunteer activities and pasta parties. Please bring your calendars to help plan your volunteer activities!

Parent Volunteer Opportunities Parents: please take time to review the following information before the Chemical Awareness meeting in August. Your participation in at least two tasks is greatly appreciated and necessary for a successful soccer season. •
Varsity Duluth Trip August 20-21 2016

Varsity team players and their parents are encouraged to participate as the Varsity team heads up to Duluth to play in a preseason scrimmage and spend one night. Rooms are secured for the players and coaches. Parents, please contact Katy Olson,
