UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, MORRIS
2017 COUGAR SOCCER COLLEGE PREP CAMP Thursday–Saturday, July 27–29, 2017 University of Minnesota, Morris Soccer Field For Boys Entering Grades 8 –12
MEN’S COLLEGE PREP CAMP Join the University of Minnesota, Morris men’s soccer program as it hosts its inaugural College Prep camp. This camp is designed for high school players as they prepare for their fall season and is open to players entering grades 8–12 in the fall of 2017. Focusing on technique, teamwork, conditioning, and mental preparation, the camp emphasizes instruction and coaching that will ready the individual to perform at their optimal level for their fall season. Goalkeepers will receive position specific training and will be incorporated into team training. The camp is directed by Scott Turnbull, University of Minnesota, Morris head men’s soccer coach, and assisted by Cougar soccer players. Turnbull has more than 10 years coaching experience, mostly at the collegiate level, which will give campers experience working with college-level coaches. Each player will be sent home with an individual evaluation. Education on the college search process as well as nutrition for sport will be provided as part of the camp. This information will help the participants make educated decisions in their journey to find the best fit for them in their educational futures. Participants will get a feel for college life as they eat meals in the campus dining hall and stay in the dorms for the duration of the camp. Supervision will be provided by the current Cougar soccer players and coaches. Campers may also use the Regional Fitness Center (RFC) and pools during their off time, subject to the RFC Schedule. Fee: $200 includes housing and all meals; campers will also receive a T-shirt.
