CORE AWARDS OVERVIEW The Carolinas Chapter of CoreNet Global invites you to submit a nomination for the Second Annual CORE Awards, which honors the Best in the Carolinas in Corporate Real Estate. CORE Awards will be presented to winners at a celebration event on Thursday, November 16, 2017. CORE Award finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of judges in the following categories. 1

JUDGING A panel of leaders in CoreNet Global and the CRE industry will select CORE Award winners. Individual awards will be judged based on written nominations and references. Team awards will be judged based on written nominations and in-person team presentations before the judging panel to be held on August 21, 2017 in Charlotte, NC (specific location tbd). 2017 CORE Awards judges: Judge

CRE EXECUTIVE of the YEAR

INDIVIDUAL AWARD

This award recognizes the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) End User Executive in the Carolinas Region who made outstanding and distinguished contributions to his/her company and to the industry. This executive has elevated the practice of Corporate Real Estate and contributes to the industry as an educator or leader. Note: The winner of this CORE Award will be the Carolinas Chapter’s nominee for the CoreNet Global CRE Executive of the Year, part of the Global Awards program and awarded each year at the North America Summit. Eligibility Criteria: Nominees for this CORE Award must: 1. Be a CoreNet Global End User member in good standing. 2. Work and/or reside in the Carolinas. 3. Not be on the CORE Awards judging panel. Selection Criteria: Winners for this CORE Award will be selected based upon: 1. Substantive and quantifiable achievements, contributions and successes. 2. Leadership of innovative strategies, programs or projects that “changed the conversation” with the C-Suite from cost management to value creation. 3. Application of a diverse skillset that has elevated the value of CRE to other senior leaders across his/her company (e.g. HR, Finance, IT, Business leaders). 4. Adoption and deployment of industry best practices. Strategic response to - or capitalization on industry trends. 5. Commitment to CRE Industry and CRE community of professionals. 2017 NOMINATION PACKAGE SERVICE PROVIDER of the YEAR INDIVIDUAL AWARD This award recognizes the Service Provider in the Carolinas Region who has made outstanding and distinguished contributions to his/her company, his/her clients and to the industry. The winner of this CORE Award provides recognized value to clients that exceeds expectations. Eligibility Criteria: Nominees for this CORE Award must: 1. Be a CoreNet Global Service Provider member in good standing. 2. Work and/or reside in the Carolinas. 3. Not be on the CORE Awards judging panel. Selection Criteria: Winners for this CORE Award will be selected based upon: 1. Substantive and quantifiable achievements, contributions and successes. 2. Leadership of innovative offerings, strategies, programs and services that provide value and results to their clients. 3. Application of creative approaches and innovative solutions to solve complex challenges or take advantage of attractive opportunities. 4. Possession of a broad network of sustained, positive relationships across clients, business partners and industry colleagues. 5. Strong reputation for ethical business practices and respectful interactions with clients, partners, peers, staff competitors and others that make up the Corporate Real Estate professional community. YOUNG LEADER of the YEAR

INDIVIDUAL AWARD

This award recognizes a professional (End User or Service Provider) under the age of 35 who has made outstanding contributions and demonstrated leadership in the Carolinas Region Corporate Real Estate community. Eligibility Criteria: Nominees for this CORE Award must: 1. Be a CoreNet Global Young Leader member in good standing. 2. Work and/or reside in the Carolinas. 3. Not be on the CORE Awards judging panel or event committee. Selection Criteria: Winners for this CORE Award will be selected based upon: 1. Demonstration of leadership and significant achievements and contributions. 2. Contribution to the CRE industry through active participation, professional development and volunteer service. 3. Winner stands out as a role model for other young leaders in the professional community. 4. Knowledge of industry trends, best practices and current topics. 5. Strong advocacy and endorsements from leaders in the professional community. Nomination Materials Requested: 1. Headshot of nominee. 2. Professional bio/CV. 3. 2017 NOMINATION PACKAGE PROJECT OF THE YEAR (< 50,000 SF)

TEAM AWARD

This award recognizes a team that delivered a project of less than 50,000 square feet for a Corporate End User. The nominated project must have been completed in the last 12 months. Eligibility Criteria: Nominated teams for this CORE Award must; 1. Be available to present to judging panel in Charlotte on August 21, 2017, if selected as a Finalist. Finalists will be notified no later than August 2, 2017. 2. Include representation from the Corporate Real Estate End User as part of the nominated team. 3. Include at least one CoreNet Global member in good standing. 4. Not include members of the CORE Awards judging panel. Selection Criteria: Winners for this CORE Award will be selected based upon how effectively the project provides some, or all of these outcomes for the End User; 1. Enables or enhances the core business strategy and performance. 2. Supports or improves productivity. 3. Reflects or strengthens the brand or image. 4. Promotes wellness, engagement and satisfaction. 5. Assists in attracting and retaining talent. 6. Creates a competitive advantage. 7. Positively impacts the financial bottom line. Nomination Materials Requested: 1. Name, Company, Title and Role on project for each member of the nominated team. 2. Pictures of the project. 3. Three (3) pages or less addressing the selection criteria and including; a. Project scope description b. Business driver for project (purpose, how space is used, what need fulfilled) c. Project team construct and key players d. Highlights and features of the project e. Unique attributes of the space delivered f. Unique approaches or techniques employed by project team g. Certifications, awards and recognition received (or being pursued) h. Statement(s) of endorsement from the End User’s leaders or employees regarding the project.

TEAM AWARD

This award recognizes a team that delivered a project of 50,000 square feet or more for a Corporate End User. The nominated project must have been completed in the last 12 months. Eligibility Criteria: Nominated teams for this CORE Award must; 1. Be available to present to judging panel in Charlotte on August 21, 2017, if selected as a Finalist. Finalists will be notified no later than August 2, 2017. 2. Include representation from the Corporate Real Estate End User. The team may include representation from Service Provider organizations. 3. Include at least one CoreNet Global member in good standing. 4. Not exceed six individual members. 5. Not include members of the CORE Awards judging panel. Selection Criteria: Winners for this CORE Award will be selected based upon how effectively the project provides some, or all of these outcomes for the End User; 1. Enables or enhances the core business strategy and performance. 2. Supports or improves productivity. 3. Reflects or strengthens the brand or image. 4. Promotes wellness and satisfaction. 5. TEAM AWARD

This award recognizes a team that displays excellence and innovation in Corporate Real Estate. The award honors the “game changers” in CRE – those individuals and companies whose work, ideas and best practices drive positive results and elevate the practice of Corporate Real Estate. Eligibility Criteria: Nominated teams for this CORE Award must; 1. Be available to present to judging panel in Charlotte on August 21, 2017, if selected as a Finalist. Finalists will be notified no later than August 2, 2017. 2. Include at least one CoreNet Global member in good standing. 3. Not include members of the CORE Awards judging panel. Selection Criteria: Great leaders and great companies recognize how important Innovation is to continue to improve performance, achieve desired outcomes and win. But measuring innovation and how effective you are at innovation can be challenging. To that end, nominations for this award need not need comply with strict and specific criteria. However, to assist you in developing your nomination submittal and to assist our judges in selecting winners, we will consider the following criteria borrowed from other world-class organizations1 that recognize innovation. In the following criteria, the term “Innovation” may refer to a product, program, service, process, initiative, tool, idea, technique, strategy or method. 1. Novelty, the degree to which the innovation demonstrates a “leap forward” • Does the innovation represent a fundamental change? • Does the innovation represent a significant improvement? • Does the innovation introduce a substantially new concept? 2. Effectiveness, the degree to which the innovation has achieved, or substantially supported achievement of tangible results • Does the innovation demonstrate its effectiveness in meeting its stated goals and objectives quantitatively and qualitatively? • Does the innovation produce unanticipated benefits for its stakeholders?

Significance, the degree to which the innovation successfully addresses a problem of great importance or takes advantage of an opportunity of large magnitude. • Does the innovation make substantial progress in diminishing the problem capturing the opportunity? • Does the innovation change culture, tradition or norms? Does it set a new standard? 4. Transferability, the degree to which the innovation, or aspects of it, can or will inspire replication or serve as a benchmark for others to model and strive for. 5. Delivery, the effectiveness with which the innovation has been communicated, implemented, promoted and adopted by its target audience, stakeholders and users. • What did the team do to make the innovation easy to use, to ensure it is well understood, to promote its value and to put into practice seamlessly? • What about the innovation made it compelling to adopt and drove demand for its use? Nomination Materials Requested: 1. Name, Company, Title and Role on project for each member of the nominated team. 2. Three (3) pages or less addressing the selection criteria and including; a. Description of the innovation b. Business problem addressed or opportunity seized c. Stakeholders and key players d. Development process (from ideation to live) e. Business driver for project (purpose, how space is used, what need fulfilled) f. Project team construct and key players g. Results achieved h. Certifications, awards and recognition received (or being pursued) i. Statement(s) of endorsement from the stakeholders, clients or leaders.

TEAM AWARDS JUDGING From the written nominations for the team awards, the judges will select 2 finalists in each category to present to the judging panel in person on August 21, 2017. Please consider this requirement of Finalists for team awards when submitting your nomination. Presentation Stage Details: 1. All finalists making it to the Presentation Stage for the team awards will be recognized at the CORE Awards celebration event on November 16, 2017. 2. Presentation teams should include no more than six people. 3. Multi-media capabilities will be available for your presentation (screens, projectors, audio, WiFi). 4. Presentation should be 30 – 45 minutes in length, including time for Q&A from the judges. 5. All presentations will take place on August 21, 2017. Presentation Stage finalists will be notified by August 2, 2017 and a scheduled presentation time will be confirmed by August 4, 2017. 6. Expenses related to the presentation stage will be the responsibility of the nominee.
