• Senior first baseman Rebecca Hall is ranked among the best hitters in the nation and the Big Ten. Hall leads the Big Ten in triples (6), while coming in second in total bases (81), fourth in RBIs (31) and fifth in hits (43). By the numbers ... 200 career hits, just the fourth player in program history to reach the milestone ... 15 RBIs needed for Hall to set a new program career record ... 9 doubles needed to set a new school record ... 6 triples currently ranks third in the NCAA. • Through games played on Tuesday, March 27, Rutgers softball leads NCAA Division I in turning double plays at 0.87 per contest, posting 26 in 30 games. The double plays have benefitted four different pitchers in the circle this season, with innings leader Whitney Jones pacing the group with 11. Eighteen of the plays came with one out already on the board, hence ending the inning. Hall has been in on 21 doubles plays, followed by 10 from freshman second baseman Myah Moy and nine from junior shortstop Jess Hughes.
• Ranked at 101 in the RPI, Rutgers is 96 points higher than this time last season, and 44 spots better than the previous three years’ average (150) at this time of the year. RU has a win over an RPI Top 50 team (Houston) for the first time since 2012, and has seven wins over RPI Top 100 teams this year, one less than the last four years combined. • Junior shortstop Jess Hughes is riding a season-high 12-game hit streak while hitting .447 over that span and getting on-base at a .523 clip. She ranks sixth in the Big Ten with 25 runs scored. • Rutgers played the longest game in program history on Wednesday, March 15, a 5-4 victory in 15 innings and three hours and 15 minutes at Florida Atlantic. Myah Moy was 4-for-7 with her first career home run and the game-winning run, which was driven home by another rookie, Erin Collins. Whitney Jones got the win after a gutsy 12-inning relief effort, stamped by a game-ending K.

RUTGERS VS. PENN STATE | RU SOFTBALL COMPLEX MARCH 30, 2018 | 3 PM
PENN STATE QUICK HITS • Junior Tori Dubois blasted a grand slam against Robert Morris to propel Penn State to an 8-7 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, marking the second time this season in which she has knocked in the game-winning run. Dubois hit a walk-off single into right field against Kent State to give Penn State its first home win of the 2018 season. Dubois’s grand slam marked the first for the Nittany Lions since the 2017 campaign when Delaney Elling laced a shot against Iowa State, March 4. Furthermore, the junior left fielder is hitting .333 with runners on base and .375 with runners in scoring position this season. • Penn State has had to work for each of its wins this season, coming back late in the contest from a large deficit to pick up its victories. Recently, Penn State came back from a 3-0 deficit against Maryland to pick up the 4-3 victory before going on to score six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning against Robert Morris to take the 9-7 win after trailing 7-0 through the first four and a half innings. • Freshman Dani Fey has been standout at the plate for the Nittany Lions since moving into the leadoff spot in the batting order in the third week of the season. Fey hit .385 in Jacksonville, Florida and carried a .556 on-base percentage, drawing four walks, while also holding a .385 slugging percentage. The freshman outfielder tallied five hits while scoring a team-high five times for the Blue and White in its five games at the JU Tournament. Since then, Fey has maintained the leadoff spot for the Nittany Lions, hitting .387 when she is the first batter of the inning. The Bangor, Pennsylvania native ranks third in the Big Ten Conference in walks with 20 and carries a .440 on-base percentage, which ranks 12th in the conference.
