2018 Shanks Workshop on Mathematical Aspects of Fluid Dynamics Vanderbilt University, March 24-25, 2018

Sponsored by the Shanks Endowment the National Science Foundation and Vanderbilt University

Speakers: Roland Glowinski (University of Houston) Juhi Jang (University of Southern California) Igor Kukavica (University of Southern California) Haoxiang Luo (Vanderbilt University) Anna Mazzucato (Pennsylvania State University) Todd Oliynyk (Monash University, Australia) Jared Speck (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Chongchun Zeng (Georgia Institute of Technology) Organizers: Marcelo Disconzi, Chenyun Luo, Giusy Mazzone, Gieri Simonett (Vanderbilt) Aim: This workshop will provide an opportunity for the dissemination and discussion of recent results and new techniques in the study of partial differential equations related to fluid dynamics. In particular, the workshop’s participants will benefit from the interdisciplinary make-up of the group of speakers which incorporates researchers working on theoretical, numerical, and applied aspects of fluid dynamics. Financial support: Limited financial support is available for young researchers and researchers of underrepresented groups. The deadline for applying is February 10, 2018.
