Spirit Week: Charger Day (7th Grade only – Caps for Sale) Battle of the Books: 9:00 a.m. in the auditorium. *EARLY RELEASE Today – STUDENTS and STAFF: Grades 6-12@12:45 p.m. & K-5 @1:00 p.m. Buildings will be locked at 1:30 – please have arrangements made for your student(s) to be picked up. The Charger Kid’s Club (grades K-5) is available on early release days from 1–6:00 p.m. for $9 per child; call Student Services @696-4905 x227 if interested.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS   

PE Reminder: Please send indoor shoes with your child on PE days. High School Prom: Prom is Friday April 27th. This is an early release day and you need to attend all day in order to go to prom. Tickets will be going on sale after spring break. The price is $40 and dinner is included. Hope to see all of you there! Running Club: Running Club will be Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on April 10th after Spring Break. This club is for any students interested, in 5th grade or higher. It is especially encouraged for those athletes that are looking to do sports next year, including cross country and basketball. We will meet 3:15 to about 4:15/4:30, starting in the gym. The Career Readiness Team has assembled a comprehensive list of West Michigan area SUMMER CAMPS (click for more information). Camps are a great way to help young people learn more about their interests, values, and skills – all important pieces of the career development process. Camps cover ages 4 -18. Many offer scholarships, and several offer transportation support as well. Cheers to less screen time this summer! Trout Unlimited Summer Student Employment Opportunity: Trout Unlimited is hiring once again for our Green Team! The Green Team is a paid high school workforce that does watershed restoration activities (and much more) in the Rogue River watershed during the summer. Visit www.tu.org to find more information about this great program along with an application that is due April 2. AYSO and VIP (Special Needs) Soccer Programs: Registration is now open for both programs – see the attached fliers for more details and pricing. Attention HS Parents: The Parent Association is looking for parents willing to serve as class advisors for students in grades 9-12. These parents would commit to representing a group of students as they advance toward graduation, helping them with fundraisers, etc. If you would like to serve in this capacity, please contact Sherry Fisk at [email protected]. Traffic Control Volunteers Needed: If you would like to help keep our students safe and assist with traffic control in either the morning or afternoon, please contact Dan Clark at 616-263-7172. Host an International Exchange Student: Spread global awareness and understanding by hosting an International Exchange Student. ECEP is seeking host families for students attending Creative Technologies Academy.

COUNSELORS CORNER Going PRO Apprenticeship Readiness Program Free Training: The Going PRO Apprenticeship Readiness program is open to individuals ages 18 -24 (seniors graduating this year who will turn 18 by June 4th qualify). This pre-apprenticeship program has a focus on skilled trades featuring apprenticeships in machining, mechatronics, tool & die making, and more. This is a multi-faceted training program where participants will attend classes part time while also earning money training with a local employer. Information sessions will be held throughout the county; register to attend an upcoming session. For more information, you can also visit www.westmiworks.org/goingpro or talk to Mrs. Dille.

Student Messages: Please use CTA's office telephone number to get messages to your students rather than texting them. Student cell phone use is restricted in the classroom and students' phones will be taken if they are not using them in compliance with teacher guidelines. Tardy Sign-In Policy: If your child is late, a parent/guardian MUST bring them to the office to sign them in and get a pass. MS/HS need a pass after 7:45 a.m. and EL need a pass after 8:00 a.m. Building doors are locked at the times noted and students cannot go directly to their classroom door. Medicine - Parents can drop off any meds to student services to give to their child during the school day. You will need to fill out a form – see Mrs. Atkins in Student Services. Absence/Tardy - Please call student services @696-4905 Ext 211 if your child is going to be absent or late to school. You may leave a message at any time before or after school hours. Charger Kid’s Club: CTA has an after-school program for K-5 students. Chargers Kid’s Club runs Monday through Friday from 3 – 6:00 p.m. The fee is $6 per day per child to attend. The program is also available on early release days from 1 – 6 p.m. for $9 per child. If you would like more information about the Charger Kid’s Club, call CTA at 616-696-4905.
