March 5: The Temple Tax & Mountain Movers – Matthew 17: 14-27 & Mark 9: 23, 33-35 “Everything is possible if a person believes.” ~ Jesus, Mark 9: 23 Know: God reveals that His love makes all things possible, which gives us the optimism to look for what’s possible and try things we would otherwise not try. What are YOU going to do now you know?! March 12: Loaning Money, Paying it Back – Matthew 18 “The king was filled with pity for him…released him and forgave his debt.” ~ Jesus, Matt 18: 27 Know: God’s love does not condemn us, but forgives us again and again. What are YOU going to do now you know?! March 17: Jewish Holidays & Living Water – John 7: 1 – 8: 11 “Stop judging by mere appearances and make a right judgment.” ~ Jesus, John 7: 24 Know: God’s love does not look at just the outer circumstances, but at the heart of a person. What are YOU going to do now you know?! March 26: Lights, Lamps, & a Blind Man Healed – John 8: 12 – 9: 38 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” ~ Jesus, John 8: 12 Know: God revealed that His love is the light that guides our way. What are YOU going to do now you know?! April 2: Sheep & Oxen – John 10: 1-21, Luke 17: 11-19, Matthew 11: 25-30 “My purpose is to give life in all its fullness. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” ~ Jesus, John 10: 10, 11 Know: God revealed His love by giving His life so we could have the best life possible, now and forever. April 16: Banquets & Rock-Throwing – John 10: 22-42, Luke 13:33 – 14: 24 “When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.” ~ Jesus, about giving to those who cannot give back, Luke 14: 13, 14 Know: God respects and honors people whom others might consider unimportant or lowly. April 23: Coins & Counting Costs – Luke 14: 25 – 15: 32 “There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” ~ Jesus to a crowd, Luke 15: 7 Know: God revealed that His love is always ready to welcome people who repent. Repentance means changing your mind about where true life is found. What are YOU going to do now you know?! April 30: The Afterlife – Luke 16: 1-31, 17: 20-37 “God knows your hearts.” ~ Jesus, to the Pharisees, Luke 16: 15 Know: God revealed that His love gives us a way not to worry about what will happen after we die. Or are you envious because I am generous?” ~ an employer in Jesus’ story, Matthew 20: 15 Know: God revealed it is never too late to come to Him and receive His love. He who believes in me will live even though he dies.” ~ Jesus, John 11: 25 Know: God revealed that His love leads to life. What are YOU going to do now you know?! May 21: Tax Collectors & the Messiah – Mark 10: 13-45, Luke 19: 1-10 “I…came here not to be served but to serve others.” ~ Jesus, Mark 10: 45 Know: God revealed that His love is an other-centered, serving love. May 28: Beggars & Perfume – Luke 18: 35-43, 19: 11-27, John 12: 1-11 “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given.” ~ a Master of men in Jesus’ story, Luke 19: 26 Know: God revealed that He gives each of us unique ways to show His love. He expects us to spread and multiply His love by using the gifts He’s given us. What are YOU going to do now you know?!
