50% UK Content - how do we get there? UK Offshore Wind Supply Chain Conference and Exhibition

As part of The Crown Estate’s third round of national offshore wind supply chain events, Regen SW and partners from Offshore Wind England are hosting an event at the National Exhibition Centre in May. Building on the success of previous years, this event will be an excellent opportunity for businesses to engage with the major offshore wind developers and tier one suppliers to understand how they can expand their presence or break into this growing industry. There will also be supply chain themed breakout workshop sessions and an exhibition giving good opportunities for business networking and building collaborations.

The afternoon workshops are focused sessions offering both suppliers and top tier companies, turbine manufacturers and developers the opportunity to explore some of the key issues facing the industry in more detail. These highly interactive workshops offer a great opportunity to hear case studies from companies already supplying into the industry. Delegates can choose one workshop per session to attend.

Workshop session 1 Innovation for Growth A focus on innovation as an entry point into the offshore wind industry. Speakers: National Composites Centre, Technology Strategy Board, Large Diameter Drilling Developers’ Update An update on the major Round 3 projects. Speakers: RWE npower renewables, Eneco, SmartWind, DONG Energy Workforce and Skills Skills is an industry-wide issue but there are a number of initiatives that are working to increase the skills level of the workforce. Speakers: RenewableUK, Power Academy, National Skills Academy for Power

Workshop session 2 Procurement Opportunities Examples of companies successfully supplying the offshore wind industry and helpful hints and advice for new entrants. Speakers: Mabey Bridge, Offshore Wind England, Mitsubishi Power Systems Collaborating for Success Collaborating within the supply chain is a potential route to market for new entrants. This workshop will include case studies from companies successfully supplying the industry through collaboration and companies interested in establishing new collaborations. Speakers: Hyde Group, Mojo Maritime, VINCI Offshore Wind UK, BVG Associates Advance Manufacturing and Composites Speakers: David Brown Gears - other speakers to be confirmed
