Offer Your Time to Reach a Child! There is no other outreach event in the life of a SBC church that reaches more children than Vacation Bible School. Be sure to volunteer your time and you will be the one to receive the blessing. You don’t have to teach. There are many other positions to serve in. Our 55+ family has always led the way in helping during this week and I know that this year will be no different. Call the children’s office today! Every church in America experiences a slump in giving during the summer months. I want you to pray about helping us catch up in our budget giving and if the Lord leads you to do so; give an extra special gift! Also, remember that we still have a fund to hopefully purchase another mini-bus! Now that our Moving Mountains Campaign is over, some people are taking the amount they used to give and are now giving it to our Mini-bus Fund. Thank you so much! Finally, let’s be sure to keep a close tab on how our Life Group members are doing and encourage them to attend each week. If you have members who need to be on our Homebound Roll; please call the 55+ office to let us know. We want all of your members to be present on Sunday mornings for Life Group time unless they are out of town or sick. Please call and let’s do our best in having great attendance as we enter the summer months. We have lost some of our dearest church members in recent weeks. Who will step up and take their place in serving? I challenge you to serve some place in the life of our church, instead of just being a spectator! You are robbing yourself of a blessing; so volunteer today. There is a great need for volunteers in our ROC!

Unbeliveable! 55+ To Take Unheard of One Hour Trip on the International Space Station June 15th! Well, Ronnie had to do some talking with people in high places; but he pulled it off! It’s unbelievable! Don’t ever say that Ronnie doesn’t go the extra mile for you! We are going to go aboard the International Space Station to see our beautiful planet. See our planet like you have never seen it before and it only cost $7.00. At 9:45 a.m. sharp we will board our rocket mini-buses as we head downtown to let you browse the fun shops downtown and eat lunch and or get a snack from Ronnie’s favorite; the M&M Peanut Shop. We will meet back at our mini-buses at 11:30 to take us to the launch pad where we will blast off at the Gulf Coast Exploreum and see the IMAX film “Our Beautiful Planet” produced by NASA in conjunction with the International Space Station. We will reenter the atmosphere around 1:00 and head back to the church on our rocket mini-buses. On the way home we will stop by Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe for some out of this world sweet treats to eat on our rocket on the way home. (Our rockets can only hold 30 people; so the first 30 people to turn in their $7 will be ready for take off.) The trip to space is only $7. Bring extra money for lunch, ice cream and more.
Summertime Game Time! It’s All Out War! Our new schedule for our Summer Game Time begins on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Bring a Friend and a dish! Leave your feelings at home. This is all out war as we play Mexican Train Dominoes and Phase 10. We meet in the Fellowship Hall! Good friends, good fellowship and good eating! See you there!!
Our June LWYL Project - 90 Volunteers are needed Vacation Bible School June 19-23! It’s the most important week in our outreach to children for the entire calendar year! More children are impacted for Christ in this one week and the need for you to volunteer is urgent. Call or come by the Children’s Ministry office and find out how you can help. You don’t have to be in charge! Just be willing to help! You will be the one to receive the blessing! Call 660-2422.
A Waiting List is now open for Travel with Pastor Alan and Bro. Ronnie to the Holy Land! We have had spaces open for our October 30-November 8 trip to the Holy Land. The cost is all inclusive price of $3799. Visit Caesarea, Megiddo, Mt. Carmel, Sea of Galilee, Tiberias, Capernaum, Mt. Hermon, Golan Heights, Nazareth, Jericho, Jerusalem, Masada, Dead Sea, Qumran, Bethlehem, Garden Tomb, Joppa and more. Contact Ronnie at 660-2422 immediately if you are interested.
