Game #12 Saturday, April 7, 2018 3:15 p.m. - Nickerson Field - Boston, Mass. Boston University (5-6, 1-4 PL) vs. Army West Point (5-4, 2-3 PL) Watch: CBS Sports Network - Brent Stover (PxP), Steve Panarelli (color) SENIOR DAY • The Boston University men’s lacrosse team will host Army West Point in the team’s final regular-season home game on Saturday afternoon. • The Terriers will honor their 10 seniors prior to Saturday’s contest. • Game time is set for 3:15 p.m. LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR • BU and Army West Point met in last year’s Patriot League semifinals, with the Black Knights earning a 10-7 win in Baltimore. • The Terriers nearly erased a 4-0 first-quarter deficit, coming within one at 4-3, but a Jack Wilson shot was somehow ruled to be a pass, and Army scored the next two goals to extend its lead. • Wilson (2g, 1a) and Hayden Ruiz (1g, 2a) each recorded three points, with Wilson also adding three ground balls. • James Burr found the back of the net twice. • The teams met earlier that year in the regular season, with the Terriers suffering a heartbreaking 11-10 loss in West Point on April 8. • Wilson finished that contest with four goals and one assist for five points, with Burr adding three points (2g, 1a). • Ruiz and John MacLean also found the back of the net at Army.

HISTORY WITH THE BLACK KNIGHTS • Army West Point is the only Patriot League school the Terriers have yet to defeat in their five-year history. • Two of those five losses have been by one goal, however, and one of those one-goal defeats came at Nickerson Field in 2014. HEARTBREAKER AGAINST LEHIGH • The Terriers fought back to take a 6-4 lead against No. 19/17 Lehigh, but the Mountain Hawks scored the final three goals, including the winner with 38.1 seconds remaining in regulation, to earn a 7-6 win on Saturday at Nickerson Field. • Sophomore Chase Levesque notched six ground balls and caused five turnovers. • Senior Jack Wilson and freshman Chris Gray each recorded a goal and two assists while junior James Burr (1g, 1a), sophomore John MacLean, junior Thomas Schmidt and senior Hayden Ruiz all found the back of the net. • Sophomore Joe McSorley made 10 saves. • Freshman Kevin Snyder went 8-of-12 at the faceoff X and gathered four ground balls. • In addition to his three points, Wilson added three ground balls and caused two Lehigh turnovers. WELCOME BACK, CHASE • Sophomore Chase Levesque made his first appearance since Feb. 10 and made quite the impact as the Terriers’ starting long pole on Saturday against Lehigh. • He matched his career high with six ground balls and also recorded a career-best five caused turnovers. • Levesque also collected six ground balls in the season-opening win over Providence. • In just three games, Levesque has totaled 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
ONE OF THE BEST ROOKIES IN THE NATION • Freshman Chris Gray has been outstanding all season for the Terriers. • He has tallied a point in each of his first 11 collegiate contests, and Gray has also recorded at least five points six times, including in four of the last five contests. • Saturday was the seventh straight game in which Gray recorded at least two points. • Gray leads all NCAA freshmen with 28 assists, and his 49 points are second among national rookies. • He also leads BU in both categories. • Gray is sixth in the country in assists and ranks 10th overall in points. 50 STRAIGHT AND COUNTING FOR JACK • Senior Jack Wilson moved his point streak to 54 games with his three-point effort on Saturday against Lehigh. • Wilson has only been held without a point once in his entire career. • In those 54 games, Wilson has tallied 94 goals and 54 assists for 148 points. • Wilson has tallied 23 goals and 10 assists for 33 points this year. • He has notched five hat tricks this season and has found the back of the net in each of the last 10 contests. STRONG DEFENSIVE EFFORT • Thanks to the return of both Chase Levesque and Quintin Germain to the starting lineup, the BU defense had one of its best efforts on Saturday. • Lehigh’s seven goals matched its lowest output of the year. • BU caused 11 of Lehigh’s 15 turnovers. • The Terriers have allowed an average of just 7.5 goals over the last two games.

2018 boston university LACROSSE www.GoTerriers.com WILSON REWRITES RECORD BOOK • Senior Jack Wilson became the first Terrier to score 100 goals at Lafayette on March 24. • Wilson finished the day with 101 goals thanks to a hat trick. • That final goal of the afternoon also propelled Wilson past Cal Dearth (‘17) to the top of the all-time points leaderboard. • The Manlius, New York, native enters this weekend with 157 career points thanks to 102 goals and 55 assists.
WELCOME TO THE PARTY, PAL • Sophomore John MacLean has recorded at least one point in all 10 games in which he has played this season. • MacLean has notched eight goals over his last three games. • He is tied for 12th among NCAA midfielders with 19 total goals. • That total is also a career high for MacLean, who notched 16 goals in 2017. • MacLean also has seven assists as part of his 26 points this year.
BURR KEEPS SCORING • Junior James Burr leads the Terriers and is tied for 13th in the nation with 27 goals this season. • That total ranks third among Patriot League players. • He has tallied at least one goal in every game and at least two goals in nine of the Terriers’ 11 contests. • His five goals and six points at Harvard on March 20 matched his career high in both categories, which he first set at Air Force on March 3 with five goals and one assist. • Burr has added nine assists for 35 points, which is good for second on the squad. • He also became the fourth player in program history to reach the 100-point milestone (79g, 23a).
LENDING A HAND • BU ranks 10th in the nation and second in the Patriot League with an average of 7.36 assists per game. • The Terriers rank sixth in total assists, with 81, just one behind Lehigh for most in the conference. • 69.8% of the Terriers’ goals this season have been assisted.
MAN-UP MAGIC • BU enters Saturday ranked sixth in the nation and second in the Patriot League in man-up offense. • The Terriers have converted 55.2 percent of their EMOs this season (16-of-29). • They are tied for third in the nation for most total man-up goals. • On Saturday, BU will go up against the nation’s fourth-best man-down defense in Army West Point. • The Black Knights have allowed only three man-up goals in 16 chances. SNYDER SLICK AT THE FACEOFF X • Facing off against Lehigh’s Conor Gaffney, who entered the game having won 61.8 percent of draws, freshman Kevin Snyder went 8-of-12 at the X and collected four ground balls in a strong performance. • Snyder has won 27 faceoffs this year and has also notched 10 ground balls in eight appearances.
