Just before Easter the children enjoyed a fun Technology Week. They took part in a range of activities, including cooking, cake decorating, bridge building, designing and making. The Easter cake decorating competition was a great success and Year 3 were the winning class. A photo of the winning design is alongside. Many thanks to all of the staff for making this such a fun week for the children.
We have had the idea of starting Parent Forum meetings on a termly basis so that parents have a regular opportunity to speak to the Headteacher about general school issues. This will be a chance to come along with ideas, suggestions or questions and will be run on an informal basis. We plan to hold the first meeting in the ICT suite on Tuesday 16th June at 9am. Future meetings will be planned at different times including evenings, to ensure that as many parents as possible have the opportunity to attend. Please note that any issues relating to just your child or of a personal nature should still be discussed with the Headteacher on a one to one basis by appointment. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 16th June.
Swimming lessons start again this week in our beautiful newly refurbished pool. Every child has an opportunity to swim each week with a qualified swimming instructor. A reminder that any children with pierced ears must have earrings removed on the days when they are due to swim. Please check your children’s feet for verrucae and if necessary purchase a verruca sock. Please remember to send in your voluntary contribution for swimming to either your Class Teacher or direct to the School Office. This contribution helps us to cover the cost of the swimming instructors. Thank you. Please make cheques payable to Kemsing Primary
As the weather improves, (hopefully!!) a reminder that children will need to bring a hat to school to wear at break and lunchtimes. Please also apply sunscreen to your child in the morning if the forecast for the day is sunny. Children may bring in sunscreen to apply themselves if they wish, but staff are not permitted to do this.
Don’t forget to recycle unwanted clothes, shoes etc with our Phil the Bag collection on 30th April.
Many thanks to Mrs Henning for arranging to bring an ambulance into school to show Class R and Class 1. The children had a wonderful time learning all about our emergency services.
