The Athletics Compliance Office coordinates all aspects of the Academic Progress Rate (APR) data collection, data entry and submission of the APR data in conjunction with the Registrar’s Office, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services and coaching staffs. 2. The Director of Athletics Compliance has primary responsibility for APR data collection, data entry, data submission, APR waivers and APR adjustments. The Associate Athletics Director for Compliance has secondary responsibility. 3. Head Coaches are responsible for reviewing APR data for their respective programs prior to data submission. Procedures 1. Student-Athlete Academic Support Services sends the Director of Athletics Compliance a UAB Eligibility Sheet produced by each academic advisor at the conclusion of every term. 2. The Director of Athletics Compliance will input all academic data on the degree progress tab in the Compliance Assistant (CA) database at the completion of each term for each student-athlete. This data comes from the UAB Eligibility Sheet provided by Student-Athlete Support Services and the Blazernet profile of each student-athlete. 3. The Registrar’s Office verifies that the data entered into CA is accurate in accordance with applicable UAB Eligibility Certification Policies and Procedures. 4. The Director of Athletics Compliance obtains and files documentation related to any applicable APR exceptions that apply to student-athlete eligibility or retention (e.g., transfer exceptions, professional sport exceptions). 5. The Director of Athletics Compliance imports data from CA into the NCAA APR online portal as specified in the NCAA Division I APR Data Collection Instructions. 6. The Director of Athletics Compliance verifies the name of each Head Coach is accurately listed for each sport in the NCAA APR online portal as specified in the NCAA Division I APR Data Collection Instructions. 7. The Director of Athletics Compliance obtains the required transfer data from CA and the student-athlete’s Blazernet profile and enters it into the NCAA APR online portal as specified in the NCAA Division I APR Data Collection Instructions. 8. graduation points. Any delayed graduation points that are identified are entered into the NCAA APR online portal as specified in the NCAA Division I ARP Data Collection Instructions. The Director of Athletics Compliance confirms all data imported accurately into the NCAA APR online portal for each student-athlete. The Director of Athletics Compliance enters eligibility and retention status for all student-athletes in the APR cohort as specified in the NCAA Division I APR Data Collection Instructions. The Director of Athletics Compliance distributes preliminary APR data to the Director of Athletics, the sport administrator for each sport, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, the Faculty Athletics Representative and coaching staffs for review and comment. After feedback is received, the Director of Athletics Compliance submits the reviewed and approved data via the NCAA Division I APR data by the established deadline to ensure compliance with NCAA Bylaw 14.01.6.1. The Director of Athletics Compliance in conjunction with Student-Athlete Academic Support Services and respective coaching staffs determine any student-athlete that qualifies for an adjustment to individual APR scores in accordance with the NCAA Division I APR Adjustment Directive. The Director of Athletics Compliance collects required documentation for submission of adjustments to individuals’ APR scores and submits APR adjustments in accordance with the Academic Performance Program (APP) timeline. The Director of Athletics Compliance communicates adjustment decisions to Student-Athlete Academic Support Services and respective coaching staffs. Once the NCAA APP staff reviews and finalizes the APR data, the Director of Athletics Compliance sends a final APR report to the Director of Athletics, the sport administrator for each sport, the Faculty Athletics Representative, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, coaching staffs, the Associate Athletics Director for Financial Affairs and the Associate Athletics Director for Media Relations.
