Steps in Prep for Existing Structural Steel: 1. Prepare surfaces with SSPC SP 3 (power tool to remove loose, peeling, and flaking paint and rust). Scuff sand all other areas of rust. All remaining areas shall be power washed and will be clean and dry. 2. Spot prime all areas cleaned of loose, peeling, and flaking paint with Tnemec Series 135(color) @ 2.5 to 3.0 dry mils. 3. Wiring and metering must conform to the requirements of this manual. Those responsible for the wiring should be familiar with these requirements before proceeding with the work. Underground electric service will be available at the OPPD pedestal located 3- feet north of the pole located north of the existing driveway off of 31st Ave. If there is no existing OPPD pedestal, call Ron Mahoney at 402-636-3530 to stake proposed pedestal location. The customer is to install underground service conductors to the above pedestal and extend the conductors 3-feet above grade inside the pedestal. Conduit, if used, is to be terminated inside the pedestal 8 inches above grade (coordinate pedestal access with OPPD). Metallic conduit, if used, is to have insulating bushings. OPPD will provide secondary conductors to the pedestal and make service connections at this point. The meter socket shall be installed by the customer outdoors on a substantial building or structure where they will be accessible to OPPD at all times. All commercial meter sockets shall include a lever by-pass. Regarding removal of existing service, OPPD will remove the padmount transformer, pre-cast slab, meter, and primary cable between the transformer and the Cable Terminal Pole located south of the driveway off of 31st Ave. OPPD will also remove the Cable Terminal Pole. Response: Note #21 on sheet C-1 will be changed by Addendum to indicate that Landscaping and topsoil is part of this project. The Landscaping, including the Paver work, the drainage system, and the Lawn Sprinkler system are to be completed as part of this project, and as such, the General Contractor will be responsible for making sure that it is part of the bid; either as work done by the Landscaping Sub-contractor or by their own crews.
