Additional Convention Activities for Delegates and Guests Friday, September 11: 5:30 pm: Join us on Friday night, September 11th for a “Patriot’s Day Remembrance Concert” featuring the Air Force Band and Singing Sergeants, the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team and a wreath laying ceremony. The bus departs from the Maryland Ballroom Bus Loop promptly at 5:30pm. The Drill Team performance will begin at 6:30pm; the concert and wreath laying ceremony will begin at 7:00pm. The concert will end at approximately 8:15pm. Transportation, a boxed dinner, soft drinks, wine and beer will be provided. Cost is $65 per person; casual attire permitted. Saturday, September 12: 9:00 am- 10:30 am: Louise Wilson Jewelry Trunk Show. Join Mrs. Van Cleef in her suite as she showcases Louise Wilson’s personal jewelry design collection while catching up with other delegate guests that are in town for the Air and Space Conference. There is no cost to attend the Trunk Show; attire is casual. 6:00 pm: Join us on Saturday night, September 12th for the AFA Field Awards Reception and Dinner to recognize chapters and individuals for their outstanding achievements. Dinner, two drink tickets, and entertainment are included in the cost of $95 per person. Attire is business. Sunday, September 13: 7:00 am: Departure from the Maryland Ballroom Bus Loop for the Memorial Service and Wreath Laying at the Air Force Memorial to recognize and remember those we have lost in the last year. There is no cost to attend the Memorial Service and Wreath Laying; attire is business. 3:00 pm: The Air Force Singing Sergeants will be performing a free concert on the National Harbor Plaza Stage. The concert is open to the public and the Plaza Stage is located at the bottom of the hill from the Gaylord Hotel. If you are interested in attending this concert, please meet by AFA Registration at 2:30 pm. 5:15 pm, 5:45pm, and 5:45pm: Departure times from the Maryland Ballroom Bus Loop for the Delegate Education Session at Lockheed Martin. There is no cost to attend the Delegate Education Session; however, advance registration is required since space is limited. Attire is business. Monday, September 14- Wednesday September 16: The Airmen & Family Programs Sessions, formally known as the Spouse and Family Forum, will now be a part of the Annual Air & Space Conference, expanding its sessions over three days to offer family members more opportunities to attend. The Airmen & Family Programs Sessions will consist of guest speakers, panel discussions and workshops that are centered around this year’s theme of “Share the Care: Caring for the Caregivers”. There is no registration fee to attend the Airmen & Family Programs Sessions during the Air & Space Conference; attire is business.
