Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Saturday, Aug. 12

• The adventure begins with a motorcoach ride to Chicago’s O’Hare airport for your connecting flights to Fairbanks, AK. • Overnight stay in Fairbanks for three (3) nights.

Day 2: Sunday, Aug. 13 (B, L, D)

• Cruise on the Riverboat “Discovery” sternwheeler. • Take a tour of the Gold Dredge 8 and try your luck at panning for gold. • Enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner

Day 3: Monday, Aug. 14 (B, L)

• You are off to the Arctic Circle! Part of the group will fly up and drive back, and part will drive up and fly back due to the size of the aircraft. You’ll travel to Coldfoot for an

Day 4: Tuesday, Aug. 15 (B) • Board the train to Denali.

• Overnight at the Grand Denali Lodge for the next two (2) nights.

Day 5: Wednesday, Aug. 16 (B, L)

• Early morning Tundra Wilderness tour. • Free time this afternoon to do as you wish.

Day 6: Thursday, Aug. 17 (B)

• Travel to Talkeetna on the south side of Mt. McKinley. • Fly to Mt. McKinley and land on a glacier. See the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier. • Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge for two (2) nights.

Day 7: Friday, Aug. 18 (B)

• Enjoy a relaxed morning. • Embark on a jet boat tour of the Susitna River and Devil’s Canyon.

Day 8: Saturday, Aug. 19 (B, D) • Make your way to the Alaska Native Heritage Center

in Anchorage. • Enjoy a Farewell Dinner. • Transfer to the airport for an overnight flight to Chicago.

Day 9: Sunday, Aug. 20

• Arrive this morning at Chicago O’Hare Airport. • Journey to our Iowa departure cities with lots of new photos and great memories. Welcome home!
