ALL IN

Discussion Starter 1. What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “all in”? 2. “All In” Meter Use a colored pencil, marker, or pen to indicate where you register on the meter for each category.

What are your initial observations about your responses to the meter? What do you think these findings reveal about your commitment levels in the areas listed?

Let’s Go All In 1. What’s The Bridge’s purpose? (Hint: You often hear it during the Sunday Worship Experience.) 2. When it comes to the local church accomplishing its purpose, are you a spectator or an active participant? Explain.

This year, The Bridge celebrates 10 years as church body. We are extremely grateful and excited about all God has accomplished through The Bridge so far. We certainly see God using us to help people love God, love others, and make a difference. However, there is more work to do- more God wants to accomplish through this ministry. What we see now is only the beginning of the great and mighty things God will do through us. As we look toward the future, and position ourselves to be further used by God, it is important that we be all in. This requires that we commit to God, His work, and others like never before. During the “All In” series, we will examine The Bridge’s purpose and core values as we commit to being all in.

Biblical Connection 1. Share something that resonated with you during this week’s sermon.

2. Read Luke 10:25-29. What initial observations do you make?

3. Considering Luke 10:27 and The Bridge’s purpose statement, describe or create a picture of what it looks like to love God with all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind; and to love your neighbor as yourself.

4. In verse 29, we read that the man who posed the question to Jesus attempted to justify his current level of obedience to God’s commands. Do you ever make excuses or present seemingly justifiable reasons for not being more fully engaged in the local church and making disciples? Elaborate. Include any reasons and/or challenges you tend to cite.

5. Read Exodus 35:4-29. What initial observations do you make?

6. God instructed the Israelites to build a tabernacle (a place of worship wherein the presence of God would dwell). Resources and materials were needed (see Exodus 25:1-9). How did the Israelites exhibit an “all in” mindset?

7. What resources and/or skills can you contribute to The Bridge as we endeavor to live our purpose?

8. How may The Bridge and the community at large be impacted if you and others fail to be all in?

Moving Forward 1. In what way(s) has God challenged you to be more obedient to His commands? How is the Holy Spirit challenging you to be more committed to His work and the local church?

2. What steps do you need to take to be more committed to God and His work? How can fellow life group members hold you accountable to take these steps?

Assignment • Couples Group – Discuss your responses to the Moving Forward questions with your spouse as you drive home or before going to bed tonight. • Attend The Bridge’s upcoming Sunday worship gathering. If you’re unable to attend, listen to the sermon online before the next group gathering. Note anything that resonates with you in preparation for the Week 2 discussion.
