Allen’s Landing - Buffalo Bayou
The Allen brothers founded Houston on the banks of Buffalo Bayou, at the point where they were no longer able to navigate northward. The site was subsequently a major trading port for many years. SWA provided a master plan and full landscape architectural services for the restoration of Allen’s Landing. Site improvements include a paved embarcadero with benches, bollards, and special paving inserts that list the commodities that were traded there. The park site opens up views into downtown Houston and creates a significant visual and physical connection to Buffalo Bayou.
