ANNOUNCEMENTS WEDNESDAY, April 18th, 2018 SADD CLUB: SADD will meet on Monday, April 23rd, in Lecture room B. SADD seniors that have met the qualifications to order their cords will receive their cord order form. In addition, the announcement of this year's SADD scholarship recipient(s) will be announced. Lastly, we are now accepting applications for next year's officer positions. If you would like to apply for a SADD officer position for next academic year, you will be able to pick up an application at the activity meeting or in B-14. NATIONAL BETA CLUB: Students with a 3.2 GPA or higher, who are interested in joining the National BETA Club are encouraged to pick up a BETA Club application form from Mrs. Dabney, Mrs. Nicol, or Mrs. SB Jones. The completed application is due back no later than Friday, April 27th by 2:30pm. Please see either of the sponsors for more information. ATTENTION SENIORS: Scheduled Cap and Gown delivery will take place during Government classes on Tuesday, April 17th and Wednesday, April 18th. Herff Jones Representatives will also be set up in the Commons during all lunch blocks, Thursday, April 19th. Any balance still owed should be paid cash or card, no personal checks will be accepted. If any senior still needs to purchase a cap or gown, you may do so at this time. Representatives are happy to help with ordering. Remember, students must have proper cap and gown in order to participate in the graduation ceremony June 16th. SGA ELECTIONS: Over the next several weeks you will have the opportunity to elect next year's student leaders. Campaign speeches will be available on the various PGTV outlets. The first round of voting will be Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 20, which will be for the Student Government Association Executive Board offices. The second round of voting will be Thursday and Friday, April 26 and 27, and will choose Class Officers. The last round of voting will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 3 and 4, and will be the vote for class senators. All voting takes place outside the F-wing door to the Commons during lunches, and students MUST have their school ID to be able to vote. If you have any questions about the voting process or the candidates, stop by A-33. SOPHOMORES: Herff Jones will be here for the final time on April 17 & 18th for you to order your class rings. They will be in the commons during all lunches on April 17 & 18 and after school from 4-7 pm on April 18th. Order your class ring now! Don't wait till it's too late. KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIPS: The Hopewell Kiwanis club is graciously offering 2 different scholarships to all of our students. You do not need to be a Key Club member to apply! Applications are due May 1st, and can be found in the guidance office. AFTER PROM: After Prom will be at Swader’s Sports Park this year on April 28th from 11PM to 4 AM. Tickets will be on sale on April 25, 26, 27 at the high school from 11 AM -1PM. The cost is $15.00. We are also looking for parent volunteers to help sell tickets and work the event. PROM 2018: Juniors and Seniors, the time has come to begin making preparations for this year's prom: A Royal Masquerade. Make sure you are listening to announcements for the most current information. April 28th--PROM 2018: A Royal Masquerade @ The Old Towne Civic Center in Petersburg @ 8:00 pm. SENIOR PARENT MEETING: The last Senior/Parent Mandatory Meetings will be on Wednesday, April 25. Each senior student with at least ONE parent/guardian MUST attend ONE of the Senior/Parent Mandatory meetings. Each meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 PM in the PGHS Auditorium. Parents and students will not be admitted into the meeting after the doors close at 7:00 PM. Not attending will result in not participating in Graduation.
