Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you." John 14:27

Hard to believe that one year ago this month I was graduating from seminary and moving to Marianna. Time flies. What a year of change for Charlotte and me. We are so blessed to have been called by St. Luke’s to be your Rector. This year has certainly been a learning experience for me and I thank you for all your patience with me as I work to be your parish priest. Thank you for your love, support, prayers, and friendship. St. Luke’s is such a wonderful, and holy place, and I am awed every Sunday that I have the privilege to lead us in our worship. Thank you. Bishop Kendrick organized our diocese first Discipleship Day on April 9th. Forty-four parishes from around the diocese were represented at the daylong event at St. Christopher’s in Pensacola. St. Luke’s was well represented at all three of the seminars. LaRhonda Glenn and I attended the seminar “Invite-Welcome-Connect.” Ed Smith and Carl Williams attended the seminar led by Bishop Kendrick for Wardens and Vestry members, and Claudia Smith attended the seminar on Stewardship. We all learned so much and we look forward over the next few months to implementing things we feel will help our parish to improve. Thank you to these members of our parish for investing the time and energy to attend this very worthwhile event. May is an exciting month at St. Luke’s. May 8th is Mother’s Day and as is our tradition, our youth will lead our 10:30 worship service and we all will look forward to that! The next Sunday, May 15th, is Pentecost, a special Sunday on the Church calendar. Wear red! Sunday May 22 is our Annual Parish Picnic. This promises to be lots of fun so make plans to worship, eat, and play with your parish family at the lake! Lots to look forward to this month. Every day is a gift from God. May brings on spring in full bloom in Marianna and I would challenge us to be thankful for all our many blessings. Where do we see God in our daily activities? Look around and be aware of where God is present in our lives. The presence of God brings God’s peace that our Lord Jesus Christ promises to us. Thanks be to God. Alleluia, Alleluia! Blessings+ I love you, David
