DIRECTIONS: Copy the six apples exactly as shown. The left-side are Red Delicious and are dark, while the right side are Golden Delicious and are light. Step 1: Give both apples overall a local color or value equivalent with an even pencil toe. Step 2: Do Step 1 again. Then add the shadow areas. Be sure not to get black in any shadow because that should be saved for the last step. Step 3: Do Step 1 again. Then do Step 2 again. Now, add the highlight by erasing out the lightest areas and add the darkest dark underneath the apple where it rests on the table.

FRUIT STILL LIFE DRAWING

Using what you have learned in the Apple Exercise, apply the local color, shadows, and finally highlights to your Fruit Still Life drawing. DIRECTIONS: 1.  LIGHTLY sketch out with Transparent Construction the overall basic shapes of the fruit. Do not draw every grape or any detail at all. Just get the overall bunch of grapes. 2.  Be sure to fill the page completely, and write your Name and Class Color on the bottom right-hand side. 5.  Once you have positioned your still life on the page and have roughed in each piece of fruit, get more specific with the drawing and do a more finished sketch. 6.  Now, carefully and neatly give the overall local color of each piece of fruit. Obviously, the banana will have the lightest value so lightly color in that shape
