Appliqué Basics and Beyond book by Janet Pittman Fabric following requirements in book on page 81 24” x 36” Olfa Cutting mat 45mm Olfa Rotary Cutter 8.5” x 24.5” Creative Grids Ruler IBC Glass Head Pins Fabric Marking Pen or Pencil Soft Fuse Fine Tip Sharpie Pen Steamfast Travel Iron Omnigrid foldaway cutting and ironing mat Appliqué Pressing sheet Serrated Edge Scissors Sewing Machine with power cable, foot control and slide on tray Sewing machine freehand system if available Open toe or clear toe presser foot (#20 or #34 for Bernina owners) Aurifil 50wt construction thread in a matching color for background Isacord thread to match appliqué fabrics Klasse Sharp 80/12 Needles Notebook and pen for note taking
*Basic Sewing Supplies including Seam Ripper, Small scissors to Clip Threads, Glass Head Pins, etc.
Prior to class: Press fabric using Best Press. Cut the following from three background colors (1) 1 ½”x 8 ½” of dark (1) 2 ½”x 8 ½” of medium and (1) 3 ½”x 8 ½” of light. Lay out the three background rectangles in increasing value. Sew together to make the appliqué background. Class Policies • Class fee is due at time of registration to reserve your space. Phone registrations are accepted with payment by credit card. • A supply list is available upon payment of class fee, please bring all of your supplies and arrive early to allow time to set up your machine and supplies prior to class starting. • In consideration of your fellow students and the instructor, please DO NOT bring children, pets or cell phones to class. • You must cancel five days in advance to receive a refund in the form of a store credit. NO refund will be given for “No Shows” or late cancellations. • We will make every effort to hold all classes as scheduled; however, at times it may be necessary for us to cancel a class. In this case a full refund will be issued in the form of a store credit.
