TOUGHENED UP: Marist is tied with Penn State for the 42nd hardest schedule in the nation and has the second hardest schedule in the MAAC behind only Detroit Mercy, which comes in at 41st in the country. FASTEST TO 50: In Marist’s non-conference finale against Holy Cross on March 25, Head Coach Keegan Wilkinson picked up his 50th career win. Wilkinson became the fastest coach in MAAC history to achieve the feat, doing so in his 86th game on the sidelines... Former Siena Head Coach Brian Brecht held the previous conference record after he got his 50th win in his 93rd career game... Wilkinson is 55-37 in his career including 25-11 in MAAC contests. ACTIVE LEADER: Now in his final season in red and white, Recor is currently among the top five in the nation in three of the six NCAA active career offensive categories. He is fifth with 222 career points. His career average of 2.08 assists per game is fourth in Division I among active players and his 131 assists are first... This season Recor is averaging 2.07 assists per game for 15th in the country... In Marist’s last win against Canisius, Recor became the all-time MAAC assists leader when he fed Morrison for a goal at 4:28 of the second quarter. Recor’s 130th career assist moved him ahead of the old mark set by Manhattan’s Eugene Tanner in 2005. REWRITING THE RECORd BOOKS: Recor broke Marist’s all-time assists record with 47 seconds left in the Red Foxes’ win versus Drexel on March 4, feeding junior Mitchell Standera for a goal. His 116th career assist moved him ahead of Chris Pistello, who had 115 when his career ended in 1998... Recor also became the fourth Red Fox all time to reach 200 career points in the same game when he assisted on a goal by junior Gannon Morrison... With 222 career points, Recor is seven shy of tying Marist’s all-time leader, Paul Donohue, who graduated with 229 points in 2002. Donohue’s sister, Elizabeth Donohue, is the Senior Woman Administrator for Marist’s athletics department. STREAK IN TACT: Tierney has notched a point in all 15 games for Marist this season, making eight starts. He picked up his first career hat trick in Marist’s win at Quinnipiac on April 8 and set a new career high with four points against Manhattan on April 15... COACHING STAFF Head Coach: Keegan Wilkinson (Saint Joseph’s, ‘06) - Sixth Season Assistant Coach: Mike Gongas (Adelphi, ‘07) - Fourth Season Assistant Coach: Ian Farley (Sacred Heart ‘15) - First Season
Head Coach Keegan Wilkinson Keegan Wilkinson was named head coach of the Marist men’s lacrosse program on June 28, 2011. Wilkinson became the fastest head coach in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history to reach 50 career wins when the Red Foxes took down Holy Cross, 8-5, on March 25, 2017. He achieved the feat in his 86th game on the sidelines for Marist. In 2016 Wilkinson led Marist to its third straight appearance in the MAAC Championship game. The Red Foxes were the no. 2 seed in the tournament after finishing 4-2 in conference play and ended the year 9-7 overall. Marist took two MAAC major awards at the end of the regular season as Joseph Radin was named the Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight time and goalie Brian Corrigan earned Defensive Player of the Year. Following the season Wilkinson was named head coach of the North squad in the 75th United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South All-Star Game. Wilkinson led the Red Foxes to their winningest season in program history and was named MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 when Marist ended its season ranked 20th in the nation. Marist made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005 and hosted the first playoff contest in the college’s history when the Red Foxes defeated Bryant, 106, in a First Four game in front of a record crowd of 1,873 fans in Tenney Stadium. The win was the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history. In Wilkinson’s third season as head coach in 2014, he led his Red Foxes to a 6-9 overall record with a 3-3 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference en route to Marist’s first MAAC Championship game appearance since 2005. Wilkinson is a 2006 graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, where he was a four-year starter at attack and a two-year captain. He led Saint Joseph’s in assists and points three times in his career and finished his collegiate career with 54 goals and 83 assists. He is ranked second on the school’s all-time assists list and seventh in career points (137). Year 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 Career

#VOTE4JD
Marist men’s lacrosse senior attack J.D. Recor was selected as one of 10 finalists nationwide for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. Fan votes will be combined with those of the media and Division I head coaches to determine the winner, which will be announced at the 2017 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Championships in Boston from May 27-29. Fan voting for the national award ends Tuesday, May 9.
EC34
In August 2011 the Marist College community unexpectedly lost men’s lacrosse midfielder Edward Coombs prior to his sophomore year. Coombs lost his life in a car accident near his hometown of Horsham Township, Pennsylvania. Each member of the Marist men’s lacrosse team wears a patch of a black circle with the white initials EC on their jersey to honor his life. The Red Foxes started a new tradition in 2015, choosing a different senior at the beginning of each season to wear Coombs’ no. 34. Former Marist goalie Dave Scarcello was the inaugural recipient of this honor followed by attack Joseph Radin in 2016. This year Eddie’s high school teammate at Hatboro-Horsham, current Marist senior captain Jimmy Murphy, will wear the no. 34 jersey. Eddie was a well-respected member of the Marist community by staff and students.
