Easy to Grow Plants for the Landscape This program, presented by VCE Master Gardeners, will focus on the characteristics of native plants, why they matter and how to incorporate them into a home garden. Making Bee Bundles

Turtle Trot 5K

Come make an inviting home for native bees. These little bees live alone and are great pollinators for the garden. We’ll use invasive bamboo to create these as an extra ‘good neighbor’ bonus! Adults and teens $5. Information: 703-228-3403. 632846-F

Festivities include a “real” turtle race, educational booths, games and fun for the whole family! Proceeds from the race help nature center staff help injured turtles until they are strong enough to be released back into the wild. Check in at 9 am; race starts at 10 am. Register at ACTIVE.COM. Adults $30; Kids 12 and under $15. This is a chip-timed race on a certified course.
