Happy New Year! Welcome 2016! Wow, didn't think it could come so quickly! I pray everyone has been blessed this Holiday season. It's wonderful to be able to relax and spend time with family and friends. The Choir has arrived and we have started our 2016 tour of Western Canada and Northwestern Ontario. Asante Children’s Choir 2016!

Look for our Tour Schedule at http://asantecanada.ca/asantechildrens-choir/2016-tour-schedule Check out when the choir is in a town near you! If you'd like to have Asante Children's Choir visit your church community please contact our Tour Coordinator Donna at [email protected]. We've received some updated reports on a few of our sponsor children that we are excited to share with you. These are your sponsored children. These are the kids that we pray for; send cards and photos to; the children that we cheer for! Thank you for all that you do for these children. Your prayers, donations and gifts go a long way to provide a safe, healthy and happy home.

Mark Nyandwi

Mark (VB-099) is one of our sponsored children! He is in P1 and lives in Vumbi village with his mom and three youngest siblings (see picture at left). He is the seventh child in his family of nine children and his older siblings no longer live at home. Sadly one of his siblings as well as his father have both passed away. His mom is in a discipleship group where they help each other spiritually, morally and financially. In a few days she will have a pig! Which in the future will produce more pigs providing the family with food and income!

They are thankful to Asante and especially to Mark’s sponsor as now the family has access to health insurance and Mark has access to school uniforms, supplies and shoes!

Richard Byamukama Richard (LUG-025) is a lively seven-year-old boy. He is in middle class and is the third child in his family of five children and has one brother and three sisters. His family lived in the Kampala slums until his father abandoned the family. Once Richard’s father left his mom and siblings had to move from place to place looking for work in order to feed the family. Despite the hardships Richard dreams of being a longdistance truck driver when he grows up. Now Richard is sponsored and is eagerly attending school! His family is now more secure! Richard is thankful to Asante for uniting him with his sponsor, Lucy. Richard never fails to remember Lucy in prayer. Thank you Lucy!

Evelyn Akonyo Evelyn (LUG-077) is six years old. A kindly neighbour, who noticed that her father and stepmother were neglecting her, adopted her. Her new "mother" shares everything she has with Evelyn! To see them together you'd never suspect they aren't mother and daughter. Shortly afterwards Evelyn was sponsored through Asante. Now there is more security for Evelyn and her mom. Evelyn is now able to attend school and is excited to attend class every day!
