Box 145 122 Reed Street Plymouth, WI 53073 EXAMINATION OF BLACK PARTICULATE RESIDUES FROM AN AUTOMOBILE LOCATED AT 4338 EAST STUDIO LANE, OAK CREEK, WI Aspen Consulting, Inc. was provided with samples of black residues collected on tape. One of these samples identified “EAG 230_4338: Taken from automobile + east-side of dwelling” was selected for examination by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) for particulate characterization. A representative portion of the residue tape sample was placed onto a carbon planchet and given a 20 nanometer-thick coating of carbon by vapor deposition to provide conductivity under the SEM primary electron beam. The sample was then examined directly by SEM and EDS. SEM / EDS EXAMINATION

‘EAG 230_4338’ Black Particulate Residues EDS examination of these particulate residues yielded the following elemental composition.
‘EAG 230_4338’ ELEMENTS Carbon * Nitrogen * Oxygen * Sodium Magnesium Aluminum Silicon Phosphorus Sulfur Chlorine Potassium Calcium Titanium Chromium Manganese Iron Nickel Copper Zinc Barium
TYPICAL BLACK RESIDUES 67.1 1.2 23.6 0.2 0.2 1.0 2.1 atomic number 10).
Conclusions The morphology and elemental composition of these particulates are consistent with fine sub-bituminous coal dust.
