THE HALSTROM DIFFERENCE Since 1985, Halstrom Academy has educated over 15,000 students through its Southern California campuses and Online program. Halstrom has provided instruction and consultation to hundreds of NCAA-bound athletes across all sports including baseball, football, tennis, golf,
swimming, surfing, ice skating, and horseback riding. Halstrom works closely with schools across Southern California, and provides a full range of educational services including part-time and full-time enrollment for students in grades 6-12, courses for credit, SAT/ACT/AP test prep, tutoring, and college admissions counseling.
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING Halstrom’s program is ideal for student-athletes who want to commit the time to practice and compete. Halstrom provides students the flexibility to schedule classes and homework around their sport – our student-athletes can take classes and complete their assignments at their own pace, anytime, anywhere.
UC/CSU CERTIFIED AND NCAA APPROVED COURSES Halstrom is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Our courses are certified “a-g” by the University of California and approved by the NCAA. Halstrom also offers AP courses approved by the College Board. Halstrom teaches its students through personalized one-toone instruction on-campus and online. Our teaching model ensures students maximize time spent in the classroom.
MASTERY LEARNING At Halstrom, student-athletes gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed academically in college. Students must master the assignment at 80% or better before moving on to the next assignment. Teachers ensure the student understands the material by re-teaching it before moving on to the next lesson. Halstrom monitors learning through standardized pre and post assessments, teacher evaluations, attendance, and completion of assignments.
NCAA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Halstrom’s curriculum exceeds all state and national standards and is designed to help our student-athletes attain the necessary grades, credit requirements, and SAT scores to be NCAA eligible.
