Philippians 2:5-8
5. You [I] must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8. he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Jesus never complained. Scripture says to me that my attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. Where does this word attitude come from? It comes from the Greek word phroneo (pronounced fron-eh-o). My alternate title for this message is, Stop Your Complaining, eh!
So when you think Fron-eh-o, when you think about your attitude, Stop Your Complaining, eh!

The first thing that we need to do before we defeat something is identify that it’s there. I am convinced that many people decide to be miserable, because they refuse to allow their attitudes to become like Christ.

What does a vulture find? A vulture finds dead things. What does a hummingbird find? Flowers, nectar, and sweet things. Proverbs 23:7 of the New King James Version says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
James 1:2-4 (NIV) 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 5:13-16 13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Three personal promises to God Promise #1 I will not hang out with negative people. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV) 33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” I will hang out with positive people.

Promise #2 I will not dwell on negative thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. I will dwell on positive thoughts.
Promise #3 I will replace negative thoughts with God’s thoughts. Philippians 4:7-8 (NIV) 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Romans 5:6-8 (NIV) 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
