August Prayer Letter
For the Sake of One…August 2017 Prayer Letter Dear Fellow Laborers in Christ, We had a busy August on the deputation trail as we traveled over 2,000 miles through GA, KY, & TN. We were excited to see two new churches partner with our ministry as we carry the Gospel to the people of India! India is a country full of odd traditions and mind boggling statistics. One example of this is found in a polling district in the Gir Forest in Gujarat, India. A single polling station, officiated by four or five voting representatives, is transported nearly 20 miles and assembled into the forest’s interior for a single man to cast his ballot. Mahant Bharatdas Darshandas, a Hindu priest, is considered one of India’s “prized voters” as he represents the importance of being a part of India’s democratic process. Mahant is very proud and honored to be considered with such importance and often reminds people the significance of one mans vote saying,"My vote is important. Remember the BJP government lost a no-confidence vote in parliament by one vote. So one vote can make a difference.” Mahant is right, one man can make a difference. Paul reminds us in Romans 5:17 “For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” As important as it is for one man to cast his ballot during election season it is more pertinent that we get the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people like Mahant and the countless others in India who have never heard the truth of Christ’s amazing grace! I often wonder how many are across the sea and across our streets simply waiting for someone to take the time, effort, and compassion to share with them Christ.
Family News It’s a GIRL! Celeste and I are happy to announce we are having another girl, Lyla Collette Gazaway. Please continue praying for a smooth pregnancy and delivery as your prayers are felt and appreciated! We also ask that you pray for the required paper work that will need to be completed before we leave for India including Lyla’s Birth Certificate, Passport, and Visa. Pray with us while we prepare to purchase plane tickets as we draw closer to India! We are honored to be used of the Lord every month to preach and publicly proclaim Christ. Every day brings new opportunities to cultivate the Gospel as we travel on the deputation trail. Please continue praying with us that God will give the increase from every tract we’ve passed out, for every lost soul we’ve presented with the gospel, and every meeting we’ve attended as we share our burden of planting Churches in India! We would like to give a special thanks to those who gave to our setup fund during the month of August as we take another step closer to India!
