What is this adventure? Standing at 5,895m above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro is an inspiring sight. You will never forget the moment you first see it, soaring high above the farmlands of Tanzania, and nothing can compare to the sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching the top. It truly is a once-in-alifetime experience. This adventure begins in Morogoro, at the foot of the beautiful Uluguru Mountains. You will spend two days assisting with conservation projects such as tree-planting, and have the chance to stretch your legs on a short hike in the Ulugurus. Then, following the lesser-travelled Rongai Route to the top of Kilimanjaro, you will trek for seven days through five climatic zones, a chance to acclimatise and make the most of the incredible scenery. You’ll camp out in the shadow of glaciers, enjoy the camaraderie of a small, committed group of fellow trekkers, and do it all for a great cause – to take action against climate change. After the climb, come back down to earth and experience a taste of the incredible National Parks in Tanzania, with a one-day safari to the Tarangire.

From here we continue to the highest point in Africa, Uhuru Peak (5,895m), a three-hour round trip along the crater rim affording views of the crater, ice cliffs, and the plains of East Africa beyond. With time to pause at the summit, take photos and reflect on our achievements, we will then descend to Kibo for lunch. With your summit experience providing momentum, you will commence your trek to your final campsite at Horombo (3,720m). From Kibo Camp to Uhuru Peak we climb to 5,895m on a 7-9 hour trek.
