Before upgrading your system, the following should be checked.
If the AutoCrib database will reside on the management station the requirements are as follows. o Operating System: Windows 2000 or higher o Processor: Pentium 3, 1.8 GHz o Memory: 1 GB RAM o Hard Drive: 10 GB free hard drive space o SQL Server Agent is highly recommended to be purchased and installed on the management station to backup the database. This software can be downloaded from www.valesoftware.com and costs $79 per site. If the AutoCrib database will reside on a SQL Server, the requirements for computers connecting to the database are as follows. o Operating System: Windows 2000 or higher o Processor: Pentium 3, 1.0 GHz o Memory: 512 MB RAM o Hard Drive: 600 MB free hard drive space The following software has been released. If there is software on site that is not on this list, please contact AutoCrib Technical Support to inquire of its availability. o AutoCrib o AutoPoll o IntelliPort o MiniCrib o MobileCrib o ShuttleRoboCrib o Super RoboCrib 1000 o Super RoboCrib 2000 o ToolRoom o TouchVend AutoCrib.Net customers must coordinate the AutoCrib 5.3 upgrade with AutoCrib Technical Support. AutoCrib customers using MiniCribs or MobileCribs must coordinate the AutoCrib 5.3 upgrade with AutoCrib Technical Support. AutoCrib customers using custom software must contact their AutoCrib sales representative to coordinate custom upgrades development. Images inserted in the AutoCrib 4.2 database will need to be reinserted for the AutoCrib 5.3 software. Custom reports created for Autocrib 5.0 or below will have to be converted by AutoCrib Customer Service. Please call for a quote on the report upgrade. Once the upgrade is installed, contact AutoCrib Technical Support to register and license concurrent connections to run all your AutoCrib software.

AutoCrib Update for Current Autocrib 5.X – (X for 5.0 – 5.1 – 5.2) Install the Autocrib 5.3 software (Note: These steps are necessary on each computer using the Autocrib software.) 1.
Double-click on Autocrib5.3Installer.exe located inside the \5.3 Install folder. Choose Autocrib Only. (Nothing from the Above Requirements will be installed). Then, click Next.

Click Next when the InstallAware Wizard appears.

Accept the terms of the license agreement and choose Next.

Enter a user name and organization. Then, choose Next.

Accept default destination folder of C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3 and choose Next.

Update Existing Applications 1.
At the Management Station, copy and paste the following files into C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3 from the \Applications folder located on the AutoCrib 5.3 Installation CD. a. AutoCrib b. ASPSync c. AutoPoll

At a RoboCrib1000, a. Copy and paste the following files into C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3 from the \Applications folder located on the AutoCrib 5.3 Installation CD. i. AutoCrib ii. ASPSync iii. RoboCrib.exe (Open the \Robo 1K folder inside the \Applications folder. If the RoboCrib 1000 is standard, copy and paste the RoboCrib.exe file inside the \Robo 1K directory. If the RoboCrib 1000 has a proximity reader attached, copy and paste the RoboCrib.exe file located in the \Robo 1K Prox folder.) b. Copy and paste the paths.ini file from C:\Program Files\AutoCrib5.X to C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3.

At a TouchVend, a. Copy and paste the following files into C:\Program Files\Autocrib 5.3 from the \Applications folder located on the AutoCrib 5.3 Installation CD. i. AutoCrib ii. ASPSync iii. TouchVend b. Copy and paste the paths.ini file from C:\Program Files\AutoCrib5.X to C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3.

At a Touch ToolRoom, a. Copy and paste the following files into C:\Program Files\Autocrib 5.3 from the \Applications folder located on the AutoCrib 5.3 Installation CD. i. AutoCrib ii. ASPSync iii. Toolroom b. Copy and paste the paths.ini file from C:\Program Files\AutoCrib5.X to C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3.

At a Client Workstation, a. Copy and paste the following files into C:\Program Files\Autocrib 5.3 from the \Applications folder located on the AutoCrib 5.3 Installation CD. iv. AutoCrib b. Copy and paste the paths.ini file from C:\Program Files\AutoCrib5.X to C:\Program Files\Autocrib5.3.

Import the AUTOCRIB 4.2 Data to AUTOCRIB 5.3 Start AutoCrib 5.3: Start All Programs AutoCrib5.3 AutoCrib 5.3. You may right click and create a shortcut for your desktop at this time as well. After starting the program a Registration screen will appear.

Click File Log in The default login offering level 5 access (full) is admin with no password. The system offers 5 levels of access depending upon user login. Logins may be added, deleted or edited under Tools/Security.

Database Import: After the initial login 1. Go to Tools and choose Import Autocrib 4.2 Data.

Click the Import button.

Find the location of the Autocrib 4.2 database. This is usually located in C:\Program Files\Autocrib. Then, click OK.

Enter the Autocrib 4.2 database password which is password.

The software will begin to import the data from the database. Once the process has completed, the message “Import Successful!” will be displayed. You are now ready to use the Autocrib 5.3 software.
Note: If the customer has any images from Autocrib 4.2, they will need to reinsert them into the database. Also, if there are any custom reports that have been created for your customer, they will have to be upgraded to work with the 5.3 version. Please contact AutoCrib Technical Support for a quote on the report upgrade. Once upgrade steps above are complete, contact AutoCrib Technical Support to register and license concurrent connections to run all your AutoCrib software.
