Basel III
Regulatory Amendments 20th June 2018 Time - 8.00am - 12.30pm Price - €160 Trainer - Robert Ancilleri
On 7 December 2017, the Group of Governors and Heads of Supervision (GHOS) endorsed a package of amendments to the "Basel framework", the internationally agreed prudential standards for banks developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), with the intention to finalise the post-crisis reforms known as the "Basel III" reforms. This agreement is the result of a strategic review of those international reforms, which was conducted by the BCBS with a view to improving the balance between simplicity, comparability and risk-sensitivity. The EU Commission has just published a consultation paper on the finalisation of Basel III, which considers the amendments to current banking regulations required, in particular to the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), following implementation of this agreement. Apart from analysing the amendments, the seminar will also cover the potential impact that amendments may have on the EU banking sector and the wider economy, as well as possible implementation challenges.
