After 40 years pursuing bears, I’m still in awe when encountering one.’ Zorn and his team of guides are responsible for new Glamping With Grizzlies experiences in the Cariboo Mountains of British Columbia, western Canada. Where previously only walking trips were possible, his EcoTours BC firm now offers camping in the heart of grizzly territory for those desperate to meet North America’s largest predator. The camp is the also-new Grizzly Bay Wilderness Lodge, set on a pontoon on remote Quesnel Lake. Guests stay in cosy canvas safari tents with en-suite bathrooms, drifting off to sleep to the splashes of rainbow trout.
