It was important to us that we recognize the sacrifices that military families make. Families serve the nation too. Charities that assist wounded and homeless veterans are honorable and important, but their causes get a fair amount of attention. Military families, on the other hand, also face down adversity and endure hardships; yet all too often their troubles go unnoticed. Sometimes they just need a little hand-up, instead of a hand-out. Therefore, we have chosen USA Cares (www.usacares.org) as this line’s recipient for charitable contributions. USA Cares exists to help military families bear the burdens of their service in a time of need. www.modafabrics.com

Inspiration The inspiration for this collection came from one of our Moda reps, Stephanie Hove. She wrote: "Being a quilter and an Army wife, I’m always looking for military themed fabric, especially after my husband deployed to Afghanistan two years ago. Unfortunately, I have never found anything that was “rustic” enough for my soldier. I wanted a line that was traditional and relevant, but NOT novelty. I’ve always loved a burlap texture, and this fabric brings in that look without the rough feel. The silhouettes are powerful and strong. The patches provide authenticity. The words, hopefully, invoke patriotism."
