At NN, please drop off the team in front of the stadium. The team should enter through door #19. The bus should park either in the east or south lot. At Benet, please drop the team off at the Gymnasium entrance and park in the east lot. There will be a $5 admission charge for adults and $3 for students. Please send Naperville North your Pass Gate list. We will distribute to appropriate sites. A fifteen minute warm-up shall be provided. Warm up basketballs will be provided for all teams. Please be sure to return all balls to the rack after warm-ups. We have lost numerous balls at past tourneys. Gold (Varsity), Silver (Junior Varsity/Soph) and Bronze (Freshman A)
NOTE: In order to field 8 teams at each level and guarantee four games, the field includes two Benet teams in the Gold (Varsity) level. York will have a team in the Silver (JV/Soph) level only. Fenwick will have a team in the Bronze (Frosh) level only. Teams will play three games in pool play on the first three dates of the tournament. The location and opponent of the last game (December 22) will be determined based upon teams records in pool play. The final game will match opponents from the different pools based upon finish (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4). The only exception is that no matter how they finish, we will not have the two Benet teams play one another in the crossover game. Teams listed first will wear their home whites in the final round. Tie-Breakers The following will be used to determine pool play finishes N1-N4 and B1-B4. 1. Record (Wins, Losses) in pool play. (3-0, 2-1, 1-2, 0-3) 2. Head-to-head competition. (If teams X and Y both finish 2-1 in pool play, the winner of X vs Y will be the higher finisher.) This is usually the only tie-breaker needed. 3. Point differential. A maximum of +10 or -10 will be used to discourage running up the score. 4. Points scored. (Maximum of 65 points scored per game). 5. Points allowed. (Minimum of 30 points allowed per game). 6. Coin flip. NOTE: One exception to final day match-ups is that we will not have two teams from the same school play one another on the final day. In other words, in the unlikely event that Benet and Benet 2 finish the same in their respective pools, they will not play against one another in the final game.
