Blessings on the Torah The following blessings are customarily recited before studying Torah.
עֹולם ָ ַאתה ה' ֱאל ֵֹקינּו ֶמ ֶלְך ָה ָּ ָּברּוְך ֲא ֶשׁר ִק ְּד ָשׁנּו ְּב ִמ ְצ ָֹותיו .תֹורה ָ וְ ִצּוָ נּו ַל ֲעסֹוק ְּב ִד ְב ֵרי Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has made us holy through His commandments, and has commanded us to engage in studying the words of Torah.
תֹור ְתָך ָ וְ ַה ֲע ֵרב נָ א ה' ֱאל ֵֹקינּו ֶאת ִּד ְב ֵרי ְּב ִפינּו ְּוב ִפי ַע ְּמָך ֵּבית יִ ְש ָׂר ֵאל וְ נִ ְהיֶ ה ֲאנַ ְחנּו וְ ֶצ ֱא ָצ ֵאינּו וְ ֶצ ֱא ָצ ֵאי ַע ְּמָך ֵּבית יִ ְש ָׂר ֵאל .תֹור ְתָך ִל ְש ָׁמּה ָ לֹומ ֵדי ְ ְיֹוד ֵעי ְש ֶׁמָך ו ְ ֻּכ ָּלנּו .ּתֹורה ְל ַעּמֹו יִ ְש ָׂר ֵאל ָ ַאתה ה' ַה ְמ ַל ֵּמד ָּ ָּברּוְך Please, Lord our God, make the words of Your Torah sweet in our mouths and in the mouths of Your people, the house of Israel, so that we, our descendants, and the descendants of Your people, the house of Israel, may all know Your name and study Your Torah. Blessed are You, Lord, who teaches Torah to His people Israel.
