Blackhawk Area Youth Baseball Association Coaching at Rookie 5-6 Level BAYBA Coaching Code of Conduct and Responsibilities
BAYBA expects all kids to be taught the game of baseball. We do not want kids to be singled out. If you want to coach your own kid only, coaching is not for you. BAYBA expects our coaches to make this a fun learning environment for the kids. This is not about winning. The kid’s safety and learning the game come first. BAYBA expects coaches to keep things professional. Arguing with coaches or parents on or near the field will not be tolerated. Only the head coach of a team can ask an umpire about a call. You are wasting your time arguing or complaining about calls. BAYBA expects to have all coaches to turn in their clearances before taking a field. Coaches and assistant coaches will not be permitted in dugouts without a signed card from BAYBA. The BAYBA board is looking out for the kids only. There are no hidden agendas or secrets. We expect open communication from coaches on problems, suggestions, or something you just need to talk about. We do not keep things from coaches. We expect the same in return. Practices are important for the kids to learn. Practices should be organized and coaches should have practice plans in place. We expect kids to be involved. Practice plans and drills will be available to every coach. Some drills will be required at each level. We expect to know about problems with players or parents so that we can handle it together as an organization. Please do not try to handle things on your own. Complaints and problems will be taken seriously. The following disciplinary actions will be used. 1 st offense will be a verbal warning. 2nd offense will be a written warning. 3rd offense you will be removed as the head coach of the team and an assistant will be named head coach. BAYBA reserves the right to remove a coach on the first offense if we feel it is necessary or required. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are not permitted on school or township grounds. There is no reason to have these items near the kids or the ballfields. I acknowledge and understand that I am volunteering to coach kids for the Blackhawk Youth Baseball Association only. I will be professional and represent the organization in a professional manor. I will teach what the organization wants to teach and communicate with the board when needed. I will treat all the kids fair at all times throughout the season. Coaches Name:________________________________ Signature:_____________________________________
