We have Weddings down to a Science! Congratulations on your engagement, and thanks for your interest to host your Wedding at the Museum of Science! The following amenities are included in our rental fees. (When comparing venues, make sure you’re comparing apples to apples, and not missing any of what the MOS and WPC include!) 

A 5 hour reception; or 6 hours if hosting both ceremony & reception on site



On-site parking for your guests, first-come first-serve basis



A Museum program (i.e. tickets to exhibit halls for the weekend of your reception)



On-Site Event Manager(s) to execute your special day



Tables and garden chairs (including set-up and break-down)

Rates listed are through January 1st, 2016 only. Rental fees are subject to change based on availability and dates preferred. Holiday weekends incur additional costs. Each rental is based on a base guest count. If your guest count is above the base, there is a per person overage of $20 up to the space capacity. Your guest count can only go up to the maximum capacity of the event space as listed below. Below are descriptions of our event spaces. Please inquire for special rates, promotions, or other offers. Skyline RoomPerched on the Museum’s topmost floor just beneath the 230-foot spire, the Skyline Room offers panoramic views of the Charles River, Back Bay, Boston, and Cambridge through two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. By day, natural light floods the space while birds wing by at eye level. By night, the sparkling mosaic of city lights provides a dramatic backdrop for any evening event. Sunsets are spectacular! Base rental fee starting at $3,500.00 for the first 100 guests Max Capacity: 85 for stations and dancing, 100 for seated dinner and dancing, or 150 seated for ceremony d’Arbeloff Suite – Located in a secluded area off the Museum’s mezzanine level, this space lends itself to private events with a beautiful view. On both sides of the room are glass walls with views of the Charles river, esplanade, city of Boston, Bunker Hill, and the Zakim bridge. A small outdoor patio, which is also private, is ideal for evening

cocktails or even just a breathe of fresh air. Available days and evenings year round. Take a virtual tour of the space. Base rental fee starting at $3,500.00 for the first 100 guests Max Capacity: 100 with stations and dancing, 120 for a seated dinner with dancing, or 170 seated for ceremony. 30 on the patio. Washburn Pavilion - **Voted by the Knot’s list of “Best Outdoor Sites” ** Available days and evenings mid-April through October, this open-air pavilion is the only function facility located directly on the Charles River. Just steps from the water, it offers refreshing breezes, cooling shade trees, and wonderful views toward the Longfellow Bridge. Guests can sip cocktails alfresco, dine under a protective tent, or stand at the water’s edge and wave to a passing Duck Tour boat. There is no virtual tour available for this space, but you can find additional photos in the Blog section below. Base Rental fees for the first 150 guests: Fridays/Sundays Daytime (10am-3pm) $2,800 or Evening (6pm-11pm) $4,200 or exclusive rental** $5,200 Saturdays Daytime $3,500 or Evening $5,200 or exclusive rental** $7,200 Max Capacity: 230 for dinner and dancing in the tent, or 250 for dinner in tent and dancing under covered patio **An exclusive rental is for a 5 hour time block in the middle of the day, i.e 2pm-8pm. Non-exclusive is for the times listed above (daytime: 10am-3pm, evening 5pm and onward) The Washburn Pavilion is a covered patio, grassy area and an 80x40’ tent. It is an ideal location for a ceremony and reception/dinner. To have the ceremony in this space, there is an $800 fee which also adds one hour of event time to the rental. The Pavilion is not temperature controlled. If you wish to heat or air condition the tent, it must be rented from the same company that installs the tent. This may be added on last minute if necessary. The cost ranges from $3,000 to $4,500 and includes the equipment, install and strike, propane gas, permit fees, and a staff person on site. There’s also the option to rent industrial size fans for $500. Riverview Café Featuring clean, geometric lines and a long bank of windows facing the river, the first-floor Riverview Café is generously sized to accommodate everything from large seated dinners to expansive receptions. Evening events in this setting are dramatic: inside, blue neon softly illuminates the ceiling as guests mingle below; outside, dark lacings of tree boughs frame views of city lights dancing on the Charles. Available for evening events after 6:30pm (September through June). There is no virtual tour available for this space. Base rental fee starting at $2,600.00 for the first 100 guests Max Capacity: 200 for dinner and dancing Blue Wing Available for evening events after 6:30pm (September through June) the Blue Wing encloses three levels of galleries wrapped around a towering central hall. A 45-foot-long T. rex lurks in one corner; optical illusions adorn a wall; an Apollo module floats overhead. A revolving array of more than 350 exhibit components creates an unusual and dynamic atmosphere for your guests, while soaring ceilings and expansive spaces provide a touch of grandeur. Dual space rental- When renting separate spaces for ceremony and reception, there is a 20% savings on the combined rental price. The total fee includes 1 additional hour of event space rental time.

Additional Options:  Theater of Electricity- $1,200 to rent for one hour, which includes a demonstration (this space may only be rented in conjunction with the Blue Wing rental). Max capacity of 300. Take a virtual tour of the space.  New England Habitats- $750 to rent for one hour. Max capacity of 120.  Hall of Human Life-Brand new exhibit, Green Wing level 2. Inquire for max capacity and pricing.  Planetarium or Omni - $2,500 Max capacity of 200 (100 for a ceremony or cocktail reception in foyer). Take a virtual tour.  Chiavari chairs- upgraded ballroom chairs may be added for $7.50 per chair and $250 delivery fee. Catering - The Museum works exclusively with Wolfgang Puck Catering.
