Bogdan Anghel Track (March 3, 2014 – March 8, 2014)

Bogdan was called upon in several events in the first meet of the year held at UW-Parkside. Bogdan started off the day by helping the boys 4x800 relay place 8th out of 25 teams. He then came back to place 5th overall out of 51 runners in the 400 meter dash, running 54.67. He capped off the day by running a leg of the 4x400 relay that placed 3rd in the meet and currently holds the 17th fastest time in the state.

Jatiyah Childs Track (March 3, 2014 – March 8, 2014)

On March 7th, the Girls Track team opened up their season with their first indoor meet at Rolling Meadows. Jatiyah was the only individual champion, jumping 5 feet in the high jump. Jatiyah’s previous best was 4’2” last year in the outdoor season. Jatiyah also placed 4th in the open 55 meter dash, ran the fastest 200 meter time for the Sequoits and anchored the 4x1 lap relay that placed 3rd.

Cameron Ayers Track (March 10, 2014 – March 15, 2014)

Cameron had a career best day at the Buffalo Grove Invite in the high jump, where he placed 4th in the meet that saw 3 jumpers clear 6’6”. Cameron tied his career best, clearing 5’10”. He followed that up with a career best day at the Sycamore Invite in the hurdles. He set a personal best in the prelims, running 8.67, only later to set a new personal best in the finals, running 8.46.

Maddie Brost Track (March 10, 2014 – March 15, 2014)

The Girls Track team placed 5th out of 8 teams at the Highland Park Giant Relays. Maddie jumped 4’8” and was part of the high jump relay that scored a combined total of 14 feet to take first place. Maddie was also part of the class 4x4 relay and the triple jump relay and scored a total of 16 points for the Lady Sequoits.

Alexis Duehr Track (March 17, 2014 – March 22, 2014)

Alexis took 5th in the 55 meter hurdles and had personal bests in the long jump and triple jump at the Lake Michigan Invite.

Sage Keyes Softball (March 31, 2014 – April 5, 2014)

Sage hit a team best of .667 with 6 RBIs on the week.

Nathan Borries Volleyball (April 7, 2014 – April 12, 2014)

Nathan had 68 assists in just 4 games. He also contributed to 6 blocks.

Jessica Pedersen Softball (April 7, 2014 – April 12, 2014)

Jessica went 5-5, hit for the cycle and added another triple in a win over Vernon Hills. She finished the week hitting .700.

Jessica Tyrell Softball (April 14, 2014 – April 19, 2014)

Jessica hit 3 homeruns during the week against Wauconda, Round Lake and Johnsburg.

Dan Lonski Track (April 14, 2014 – April 19, 2014)

Dan continues to show why he is the Sequoits top sprinter. At Niles West, Dan placed in all four events he ran. He started off the day anchoring the 4x100 relay that placed 4th overall. He then placed 5th in the 100 meter dash before anchoring the 4x200 to another 4th place finish. Dan ended the day by running a season’s best in the 200 meter dash (23.00). Later in the week, Dan guided the team to an overall victory at the Leyden Invite. He won the individual 100 and 200, as well as anchoring the 4x100 to victory.

Hannah Skoog Softball (April 21, 2014 – April 26, 2014)

Hannah hit .500 for the week, had 6 RBIs, a triple versus Lake Zurich and a stolen base. She also scored the tying run that eventually led to the upset with Libertyville who was ranked #1 in the Daily Herald and ranked in the Chicago Sun Times.

Collin Prather Baseball (April 21, 2014 – April 26, 2014)

Collin was 6 for 17 at the plate (.352 BA), scoring 6 runs and 3 RBIs. He was also an instrumental part of the comeback win in the bottom of the 7th inning, with a big 2 out single to keep the Sequoits’ hopes alive in the 7-6 victory over Wauconda.

Matthew Horton Track (April 28, 2014 – May 3, 2014)

Matt has soared to new heights, as he continues to be the Sequoits’ top pole vaulter. At Streamwood, Matt cleared an all-time personal best, vaulting 13 feet and coming within 6 inches of hitting the state qualifying mark. Later in the week, he placed second at the Lakes’ dual meet and rounded out the week by placing 4th in a very competitive Crystal Lake meet, clearing 12 feet 9 inches.

Ashley Stephens Softball (April 28, 2014 – May 3, 2014)

Ashley hit .500 on the week and continued to play incredible defense in the outfield.
