Developed by The Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California at Berkeley, Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading® is the only elementary program that integrates inquiry science and disciplinary literacy instruction with proven results. With Seeds/Roots you never have to sacrifice valuable time for teaching literacy or science.
With Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading: • Engage students in the way real scientists work, navigating between hands-on experience and text. • Enrich literacy with explicit and scaffolded instruction through a variety of rich, informational texts. • Increase both science and reading performance with one integrated program.
Independent evaluators from the Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing at UCLA found that Seeds/ Roots has demonstrated effectiveness in increasing student achievement in both science and literacy.
