All the machines stayed upright we had thread and some machine parts that hit the floor but no damage. Thank you for asking. Frank and I were out of town for the event at a Viking meeting. New things happening with Viking come in and see. Those of you that got new machines for Christmas remember to come to your classes. Talking about classes some one asked me if she could still take her classes? Her machine was 5 years old and now that she has retired has time. The answer is of course! You will be making samples of machine quilting and not finishing a quilt. Learn to do stippling, background quilting, freehand quilting, stitch in the ditch and using a walking foot. You will concentrate on learning techniques and improving quilting skills. Come and learn to enjoy using your machine and have fun learning new skills that can be used on quilts and clothing also!

It has a wonderful way to utilize a large print that you purchased but didn’t know what to do with. It is fast and easy. There will be some pre-cutting before you come to class.

Free Motion Machine Embroidery Date: February 20 (Saturday) Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fee: $30.00 Instructor: Nancy Brunson Learn to do free motion machine embroidery with any model sewing machine with zig-zag. Freehand or free motion machine embroidery is the technique of forming designs using a freehand motion with the fabric positioned in an embroidery hoop. This takes practice to learn, but once learned, it is easy to do and the possibilities are endless and fun to do.
Texturing and Embellishing Fabric I and II Date: March 6 (Saturday) Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fee: $50.00 Kit Fee: $15.00 Instructor: Nancy Brunson You will make sampler squares that will teach you various fabric embellishing, manipulation, and texturing techniques. We will practice the 1/4” seam, pressing, nesting of seams, layering the quilt together, quilting, and binding. We should be able to finish this quick and easy quilt in class.

They are absorbent, reversible and make great baby shower gifts. Make them ahead so you’re always prepared. You need just three fabrics to put this quick design together. Pattern will be given out in class. This is a good project for a beginner. It is fun and easy and the top can be completed in one day.

“What are all these pattern stitches good for anyway?” Most machines have from seven to hundreds of decorative stitches. Do you use them? Well let’s get started! We will use everything from zigzag to florals, the fabric that you will create can be used in many items from, book covers, tote bags, purses, belts and even for small insets on wearables. All you need is your sewing machine, thread, and some base fabric.
SATURDAY CLASS: Includes a lunch break. Time for break will be 30 to 45 minutes long. KIT FEE: In some classes the teachers have gathered the materials for you. This makes coming to class easier for you.

Fast Kids Clothes Date: April 17 (Saturday) Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fee: $50.00 KIT: $20.00 Instructor: Susan Clemenza The best reason for having a serger is to make sewing easier. This class will show you all the techniques and tricks of serging clothes. You will be making four garments for kids (but the techniques can be used on adult clothes), a knit shirt, a camp shirt, shorts and gathered skirt. The kit will have everything cut out in a size 6-7 and ready to sew. You will only need to bring your serger and thread.
Blue or Red Work Wall Hanging Date: April 24 (Saturday) Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fee: $50.00 Kit Fee: $15.00 Instructor: Nancy Brunson This Blue or Red work wall hanging or pillow top is simple to make. It will be done entirely by sewing machine. You do not need an embroidery machine to make this project. It will use simple stitches to make the blue work. The blue colors are soothing and both the blue or red are crisp and clean looking with the white background. Come learn a new technique and learn to use a different thread.

This is on a drop in basis, stay for an hour or all day. Bring your machine and whatever you are working on. This is a good time to finish any of those UFO'S. Magical Thread Club Experience the new Sewing & Embroidery Club. This will be a hands on sewing experience, you bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies. Learn more about your machine, sewing and new techniques. You don’t have to have embroidery on your machine to participate, we will be making a project every month. The good part for you is that the project will be a kit. We will be having two meetings with the same project. The second Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., or the Wednesday following the second Saturday 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Sign up each month for the one that fits your schedule. Fast Kids Clothes Date: April 17 (Saturday) Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fee: $50.00 KIT: $20.00 Instructor: Susan Clemenza The best reason for having a serger is to make sewing easier. This class will show you all the techniques and tricks of serging clothes. You will be making four garments for kids (but the techniques can be used on adult clothes), a knit shirt, a camp shirt, shorts and gathered skirt. The kit will have everything cut out in a size 6-7 and ready to sew. You will only need to bring your serger and thread.
Blue or Red Work Wall Hanging Date: April 24 (Saturday) Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Fee: $50.00 Kit Fee: $15.00 Instructor: Nancy Brunson This Blue or Red work wall hanging or pillow top is simple to make. It will be done entirely by sewing machine. You do not need an embroidery machine to make this project. It will use simple stitches to make the blue work. The blue colors are soothing and both the blue or red are crisp and clean looking with the white background. Come learn a new technique and learn to use a different thread.

You will learn the techniques for inserting lapped, centered, pants (fly), hidden, hand picked look by machine, and decorative applications.
Fee: $10 per session (Free to members of Magical Threads Club) Instructor: This is not a class but one of the teachers will be here to help with any problems you are having. This is on a drop in basis, stay for an hour or all day. Bring your machine and whatever you are working on. This is a good time to finish any of those UFO'S. Come and have fun with others that are trying to catch up with projects from their past (even the teachers have those.)

Sweetheart Apron
Magical Thread Club Experience the new Sewing & Embroidery Club. This will be a hands on sewing experience, you bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies. Learn more about your machine, sewing and new techniques. You don’t have to have embroidery on your machine to participate, we will be making a project every month. The good part for you is that the project will be a kit. We will be having two meetings with the same project. The second Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., or the Wednesday following the second Saturday 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Sign up each month for the one that fits your schedule. Club fee will be $50 for our 10 meetings, and $10 per month for the kit. Kit fee is to be paid when you sign up for each months Club.
