We will also have roles for school council, charities committee, eco council and JRSO. It is our aim that the oldest children in the school are given opportunities to lead and organise school events wherever possible. We are keen that they are all involved in different roles throughout the year. Please be aware We are delighted that one of our children will be returning to school next week following a major operation over the summer. It is particularly important that we all observe the School and County advice on sickness: Children should remain at home for 48 hours after the last episode of diahorrea or sickness. Please inform the office of any other illnesses in order that we can ensure the ongoing health and well- being of our children. http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Yourchildatschool/Pages/Illness.aspx At school we will continue to be vigilant with hand washing procedures. If you are in any doubt, please phone school to check.

Help needed with gardening! With all the lovely sunshine and seasonal showers, the wildlife area and gardens are thriving! We would sincerely welcome any offers of help to keep them under control and thus enable us to use them effectively with the children. If you are able to spare a few hours, please let either myself or Mrs Yates know – Thank you. Starting Primary School in September 2017? It has been a pleasure to show off our school to a number of parents this week who are looking for places in September 2017. SCHOOL JUMBLE SALE - VOLUNTEERS WANTED The annual school jumble sale will be held on Saturday 15th October 2-4pm, and as usual we are asking for volunteers to help with the following: Setting up and sorting on Friday 14th 5-8pm, sorting Saturday morning and the sale itself on Saturday afternoon. Often people do a stint within these times so don't feel you have to stay for the whole shift!. If jumble isn't your thing! we would also welcome cakes for the tea stall, and any donations will be gratefully received, please bring it to the hall Friday evening or Saturday morning. This is a great fundraiser that has been going for many many years, it has a good reputation and attracts all sorts of people, it makes the school a lot of money, so please come along and give it a go, we will be very pleased to see you. If you want to help please contact Lizzie Lane - [email protected] or Ally Boulton [email protected], let us know what particular job you would like to do.

FOBS organises and runs several fantastic fund raising events during the school year and adding you to the email contact list allows us to let you know what's happening and how we are doing. So, if you are a new parent to the school or are NOT currently receiving emails from us then please do fill out the slip below and hand in to the school office by Friday the 30th of September to ensure that you are kept up to date. It will be great to have you on board! Many thanks Roshi Ingram & Nicola Taragel Friends of Broughton School
