BUILD CONFIDENCE IN STEM BE A GIRLS IN SCIENCE STUDENT FELLOW The Girls in Science Fellowship program aims to nurture young women in their discovery of science to pursue higher education and a career in STEM fields.

ENGAGE THE POWER OF SCIENTIFIC STORYTELLING. WHY GIRLS IN SCIENCE WITH EARTHWATCH? • WOMEN INSPIRING WOMEN Girls in Science student fellows will work with an all-female team of researchers and be led by top female principal investigators (PIs), who truly embody what it means to bea scientist.

• COMBINING STEM WITH THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES Through exercises and skill building, Girls in Science will integrate science with arts and humanities by helping student fellows develop the ability to tell their own “Story of Science.”

• GETTING AHEAD: THE POWER OF EXPERIENCE First-hand learning experiences in the field can foster impactful lessons. By working with world-class scientists, student fellows will support and learn from top female scientists in the field all while collecting critical research data.

ARE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE TO JOIN GIRLS IN SCIENCE? • Between 16–18 years old by June 2018 • W ill graduate high school in 2019 or later • Currently a student in the Greater Boston Area, California, Maryland, or New Jersey • Interest in exploring the STEM field • E xcited to work with a team of all female students and scientists on a research project in the USA • Available for 7 days in the summer of 2018

HOW TO APPLY: 1. F  ind and complete the Girls In Science Student Application Form by February 25, 2018 at: earthwatch.org/education/ student-fellowships/girlsinscience 2. A  pplications are reviewed by a panel of representatives from Earthwatch. You’ll find out if you have received a fellowship in April 2018.
