anzo Companies has provided infrastructure solutions to municipalities and communities throughout North America for the last 50 years. What started as Lanzo Construction in 1968 has since become Lanzo Companies, an umbrella organization comprised of Lanzo Construction, Lanzo Trenchless Technologies, Lanzo Lining International, Lanzo Materials & Supplies, and Lanzo MRC manufacturing. As a family-owned group of businesses, Lanzo Companies has multiple locations in United States including Detroit, Mich., and Deerfield Beach, Fla. The company, which was started by Quirino (Gary) D’Alessandro, began with sidewalk and driveway repair jobs. Over time, the company began contracting larger civil utility projects in earnest, working throughout the state of Michigan and branching into Florida, Texas and North Carolina. Business services The two core businesses that make up the majority of Lanzo Companies consist of construction and trenchless technologies. The construction side offers a broad range of experience in all facets of above ground, below ground 4
and under water construction. Construction services include: construction management, engineering and design, road and highway construction, civil construction, micro tunneling, water/wastewater treatment facilities and much more. In 1993 Lanzo established its trenchless technologies service to provide cost-effective, less invasive alternative to replacing failing underground infrastructure. As one of the first companies worldwide to use trenchless methodologies, Lanzo has installed more than 10,000,000 lineal feet of sanitary sewer, force main, storm drain, NSF 61 potable water transmission, large diameter and non-circular CIPP applications throughout North America. The company continues to lead the industry with it innovation in design and experience. Lanzo’s Materials and Supplies service is a heavy construction materials supplier for the civil construction and heavy building industry. The service carries a diverse range of ‘ready-to-deliver’ construction materials and supplies including stone, sand, gravel, piping, conduit, metals, struts, and supports that meet today’s green, code compliant, engineered specifications.
Additional services include Lining International and MRC manufacturing. Lanzo’s Lining International service is an alternative to replacing failing underground infrastructures. This service provides time-tested and proven experiences in all forms of cured-in-place pipe lining methodologies including direct inversion technologies, remote impregnated epoxy, UV light, and ambient cured methods. The MRC manufacturing side of the business provides certified manufacturers of exterior automobile plastic solutions of leading automobile companies
including General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. Safety is serious business Lanzo’s commitment to safety is hidden in plain sight. The company’s passionate commitment begins with an involved management team focused on the health and well being of each of its employees. Lanzo Construction Company was part of the winning project team recognized by the American Public Works Association (APWA) and presented with the APWA 2013 Project of the Year – Environment 8
Award. Located in the City of Marathon in the Florida Keys, the scope of work included excavation in cap rock formation throughout the project for the installation of a new AirVac Vacuum sewage collection system. The AirVac installation included PVC DR21 Vacuum mains and vacuum valve pits. Maintenance of traffic was critical to the success of this project. The new collection system allows residents to transfer from septic systems to collection for treatment. Lanzo won the award because they were identified as the
primary contractor on the project. As for the future, Lanzo Companies is working on a variety of projects in all aspects of its services. The company is currently working on a levee project in Florida which totals $70 million. Overall, the company will continue to evolve nationally and internationally with advanced technologies and construction techniques that meet the ever changing construction demands of the public and private sectors.
