God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
The Point: Keep a Christ-centered focus! Consider how you can be God–honoring this Christmas. What can you do to declare His goodness? John 3:16
This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! Most every child remembers this song if they attended church growing up. At Christmas time it is easy to see the effects when darkness is confronted by light. Lights, lights, everywhere! Today we can find so many different sources of light to decorate with. We not only have real candles with real flames! But LED lights, battery-operated lights, glow-sticks (popular with the kidos), other glow in the dark materials, and better yet, God’s creation– the sun, moon and the stars (for which God has named each one of them, according to scripture). Christmas Eve service, where multitudes of people are drawn from the shadows by the compelling light of the Gospel; where every soul is captured in the glow of a Heavenly Father who beckons, come, I am the way and the truth and the life, none come to the Father but through me; my light is the only light that can never be extinguished.

For many the coming of New Years is a time often association with a kind of post-holiday letdown. Decorations come down, lights hang unlit. Hope is stuffed into cardboard boxes; and the joy that held advent truth so eloquently too readily dissolves.
