Today’s message by Allen Lathrop
When God Is Silent
Showing & Sharing Jesus’ Love
December 28, 2014 “New” is the descriptive word for those who have united their lives with Christ; it’s why He came. He has give us a new birth (1 Peter 1:3). In Him we become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). He has opened for us a new and living way to God (Hebrews 10:20) and become the mediator of a new covenant (Hebrews 9:15). All that we might be made new in the attitude of our minds and put on the new self created to be like Him (Ephesians 4:23-24).
Deacon of the Week
As you reflect on changes you would like to make in Your life in this new year, give serious thought to making Jesus the first priority of your life. Commit yourself to regular worship and get connected to a Bible fellowship group.
1. Compared to Bible times, things are not so different today. My thoughts:
To Our Guests We are excited that you have chosen to worship with us today. We hope that you find our fellowship warm and friendly, the message meaningful and practical, and that you encounter God in a life-transforming way. Please take a moment and fill out the Guest Card located in the seat in front of you and place it in the offering bag as it is passed. As our guest we do not want you to feel obligated to participate in the offering unless you have a desire to; this is how those who call El Camino Baptist their church home support its ministries. If you have children with you, we encourage you to take advantage of our great preschool and children’s worship. This will free you and others to give full attention to worship and God’s Word — and your kid (s) will have a great time. See someone from Guest Services for assistance. Sincerely,
If you have a special need this week, our Deacon will be available to assist you.
God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
2. We have many reasons to continue trusting God. My thoughts:

Like a tree that is planted near streams of water is able to sink its roots deep into the fertile soil and draw from it the nourishment it needs, resulting not only in it being full and lush, but producing life-giving fruit, God wants us to experience His blessing and to be a blessing to others. The psalmist says the soil of nourishment for us is God’s Word. As we study it, meditate on it, and delight in it, God’s Word feeds our soul and mind, and draws us into an ever deepening relationship the Author of Life.—and we FLOURISH
