Being in the right group is important. We want 6-12th grade students to be connected to our student ministry, and one of the best ways to do that is to get plugged into a Small Group this year. All of our groups meet on Sunday from 10-11 AM. Join a group today!

OFFERING We give out of our love for God to support His work here on earth. If you are a guest we welcome you to express your gratitude but do not feel pressured.

DECISIONS At the end of the service an invitation is extended and is an opportunity for you to walk forward to accept Jesus as your Savior, rededicate your life, transfer your membership or ask for prayer and spiritual counsel.

BAPTISM Immersion in water pictures the death and burial of our old life without Jesus and the beginning of our new life as His follower. It is the moment when God’s grace unites with our faith providing forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

ANNUAL MEETING NEXT SUNDAY! Virginia Preteen Convention “Made 4 More” - March 2 - 3, 2018

You’re invited to the 2018 Work as Worship Retreat, where eleven influential business leaders and pastors will discuss what it looks like to connect faith and work. Taking place as a one day Local Church Retreat on February 23, 2018, this live event in Dallas will be webstreamed to over 2,000 churches around the world, including our very own Towne South Church of Christ! Join us for a day filled with real-life stories, biblical teaching, and practical wisdom that will equip believers in the marketplace to see their work as an opportunity to care for their families, fulfill their calling, and bring glory to God. If you are interested or want to know more, visit tscoc.com/work-as-worship The retreat will be from 8:30 AM till 3:30 PM. The cost for this retreat is $25.00 and will include lunch.

Calling ALL 4th and 5th graders to one of the BEST WEEKENDS EVER, designed just for you!!! Our kids look forward to this every year!!! The total cost of the Convention weekend is $75, which includes the $50 registration fee, the hotel, lunch on Saturday, and a convention T-shirt. The $50 is due no later than Sunday, February 11th. The remaining $25 and the medical release form must be turned in before we leave. We are calling on our kids and our TS family to help us with our “Handle With Care” Mission this year. This is through the “Connect With a Wish” organization that serves foster children in that surrounding area. We are collecting TRAVEL SIZE toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and body wash, to be placed in a duffle bag, along with the blankets that the convention kids will actually make, and these will be given to children who find themselves in a difficult time of transition. More Information and all the forms can be found at the JAMtowne Kid Check and at The Hub in the foyer. Please do not allow financial concerns to be an issue. Please see Sissy about available scholarships. If you have any questions, please contact Sissy Giffin at [email protected] or 338-2248 or 619-2592.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

GROWTH Towne South will host “Work as Worship” on February 23rd!

WANT TO SERVE MIDDLE OR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS? An AWESOME Time was had by ALL at the Winter Fun Super Sleep-Over!!! We had 40+ kids and 9 sponsors here for the 2018 Winter Fun Super Sleep-Over last Friday, January 26th. It was a FUN-filled evening with scooting and skating, crazy winter games, we made pizzas together, made hot cocoa, and much more! By midnight we bedded down with a snack and the winter movie classic “Ice Age,” only to rise and shine to the smell of Mr. Ed Griffin cooking us an amazing breakfast that included cheesy eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruit cup, etc. A huge THANKS also goes out to Mrs. Gloria who provided a mountain of muffins, and to Mrs. Winnie for the grapes. A blast was had by all, and it couldn’t have happened without all the extra hands and feet of our amazing volunteer staff. Vicky Thompson, Nicole Reaves, and Tommy Wooten were our adult sponsors and were there for the long haul. You guys were amazing to work with! We also had many of our older teens helping, not to mention our college age sponsors, who “outdid” themselves! Amon McElrath, Meagan DiMichele, Matt Eckert, Mike Eckert, and Selena Buchanan all made this Children’s Director very proud to serve alongside them! Everyone went above and beyond to help make this a safe and special night for our kids. Thank you for serving our awesome God and for blessing our kids here at Towne South. It is a pleasure and a joy to serve with you all!!!! ---Sissy

2 Service – 11:15 AM

Do you have an interest in working with middle or high school students? There are a bunch of ways you can do that! We are looking for people who have a heart to serve and love on our students. If you are interested in getting involved with the student ministry, email Corbin at [email protected] and start the conversation today!

Our Annual Meeting will be held NEXT Sunday evening, February 11 at 6 PM. We encourage everyone to come, bring a potluck dish, enjoy a brief meeting, and vote on our recommended elders — Brad Giffin and Jonathan Snoots. There will be a time afterwards to answer any questions you may have. Our meetings are NEVER long. We enjoy a time of fellowship; our leaders give a very brief synopsis of the past year; and this year, we will vote on whether or not the congregation confirms the recommendation of the elders to add Brad and Jonathan to our slate of elders. If you know you will be unable to attend that evening, you may pick up an absentee ballot from The Hub this morning. Once completed, that ballot should be placed in the offering boxes next to the doors leading toward the carport. Reminder: Our meeting will begin promptly at 6 PM; so we ask that you plan to have your favorite potluck dish here by 5:45 PM to allow adequate time for setup. Thank you!

MEN’S CHORUS Last call to join the men’s chorus! There will

be a rehearsal today from 3:00 to 3:45 PM in the ladies' classroom and/or tomorrow evening from 6:30 to 7:15 PM at Beth's residence (701 First Street). Questions? Call 312-3903 or email [email protected]
