Dear Parents/Guardians: I hope you and the family are enjoying the summer break. We are looking forward to a very exciting and rewarding school year. The staff has been very busy preparing for the new school year and is anxiously awaiting your student’s arrival. We are pleased to have you as an educational partner this school year. As the year progresses and questions may arise, contact the campus your student(s) attends for clarification. One of our goals is to see that the parents and guardians of students – like the students themselvesfeel welcome in Buna ISD. Please refer to our district website www.bunaisd.net for information regarding district and campus events and activities. We want to invite our parents and community to serve as a volunteer/mentor for our students. Volunteer information can be found on our district website. Due to the economy during these challenging financial times, Buna ISD continues to be good stewards of the districts funds; therefore, we are continuing to “go green” and place all handbooks on our district website for viewing; however, if you would like a hardcopy we will provide one. We are glad to have you as a partner in your child’s education, and we want to assure you that we will do our best to help your child experience academic, social, and emotional growth. With your help and cooperation this should be an excellent school year. Looking ahead to 2012–2013 exciting school year the district’s focus will be: academic planning; promoting academic excellence; expanding and improving technological resources; promote district unity through the fostering of school spirit, pride, character, and a tradition of excellence; enhance communication with the community; and practice good stewardship of finances and facilities.
