ABOUT ANNUAL REVIEWS

Annual Reviews (www.annualreviews.org) is a nonprofit publisher whose mission is to synthesize research literature across many scholarly disciplines for the global scientific community. Since 1932, Annual Reviews has provided comprehensive, timely collections of literature review articles written by leading scientists for forty-six disciplines within the Biomedical, Life, Physical, and Social Sciences (including Economics). Each journal has its own Editorial Committee comprised of the world’s leaders in that field. The Editors select multiple topics for each volume and invite expert authors to evaluate the vast amount of research and summarize trends. As a result, Annual Reviews journals are among the most highly cited volumes in scientific literature. They are available worldwide in print and online to individuals, institutions, and consortia.

EQUIPPING THE SALES TEAM

With a goal to disseminate their journals as widely as possible to the relevant institutions, Annual Reviews wanted to empower their sales team to become more effective by identifying opportunities, utilizing fewer resources, and reducing distribution time. Many hours were invested in digging through and parsing out the account list and/or analyzing usage and denial reports on an account-by-account or countrywide basis. In addition to their internal sales team, Annual Reviews uses external sales agents in various time zones to manage their accounts in select territories, and they do not have the ability to share their internal reporting systems with these outside agents.

TARGETED REPORTING

At RedLink, we provide a simple, fast way to get reports with actionable insights that help targetand prioritize accounts in different regions. RedLink collaborated with Annual Reviews to create more efficient countrywide reporting by providing a way for them to disseminate data by prioritizing accounts across their various international locations based on number of denials of full-text. With this feature, which RedLink has now incorporated into the standard client dashboard, Annual Reviews was able to validate the top accounts and create targeted sales plan at the beginning of the sales cycles for sales agents in their respective territories. As next steps, Annual Reviews plans to improve productivity and communication of its sales teams all over the world with their customers with instant access to reports to specific accounts in their respective territories.
