Call for Proposals The Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) 33rd Annual Conference Indianapolis, Indiana October 18-20, 2017 The 2017 CSIET Conference Planning Committee is seeking proposals from those interested in presenting a session or roundtable discussion at our annual conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Audience: Each fall, the CSIET Annual Conference provides a unique networking and learning opportunity for representatives from international youth exchange programs, secondary private and public schools, athletics associations, governmental institutions (including the US Department of State and Department of Homeland Security), and more. The mission of CSIET is to provide leadership and support for the international student exchange community to ensure that high school students are provided with safe and valuable international educational experiences. This year’s conference provides a constructive and timely forum to engage in dialog that will shape the immediate future of our community. Session topics can fall under one or more of the streams below for high schools international student programming:
J-1 Visa Exchange Programs F-1 Visa Programs School and District Programming Outbound Short-term
Examples of relevant, timely topics include: host family payments, athletic/activities eligibility for foreign/international students, toolkits for high school administrators working with international exchange programs, F-1 programs in a boarding environment, exchange program management, recruiting practices, and more!
